Unfortunately, this painful trend is going to continue for sometime during the Afghan peace process. Once Afghan political parties are aligned with Afghan Taliban on an agreed setup, then we can expect to have a proper treatment of TTP/NDS/RAW in full spectrum.

Until then one day it's us and the other day it's them getting lucky.

With more attacks and deteriorating security situation in Pakistan especially in Waziristan and Balochistan, why were you expecting lesser casualties?
Terrorism is again trying to find its place.

Or, at the very least, parity maintained with the country sponsoring/supporting these groups. We failed to achieve either because we are endlessly defensive.

If a R&AW field officer knows that he's a marked man and will soon end up dead if found to be involved with terror activities against Pakistan, he will think twice before sponsoring TTP (with NDS help) from Afghanistan.

imperative that the mil is honest about the ground situation with the people. questions should be asked regarding conduct of operations and the enemy strength and influence. there should be a forum with direct contact of like-minded professionals with the mil. rudimentary journalists in Pak are usually too duffer to have a know-how of warfare dynamics.
