NTPC to invite tenders for $1.2 billion Bangladesh joint venture power project

We should get unemployed youth to ride cycles in power stations to generate power.

That used to an actual question in NCERT physics textbook for 12th standard in my times.

How much energy can a boy peddling a stationary cycle attached to a dynamo can produce in hour and how much of that energy will reach his house 5 kms away after transmission losses ?

Answer: Not much :D

We could have just opened another Nuclear Power plant, Coal powneuclawer-plant are too destructive to the environment.

Nuclear is cheaper.

Cheaper but we dont have enough capability to run those nuclear plants. And densly populated country with a fear of neuclar destruction is a night mare. When we will have strong economy based on these coal plants we will be operating more neuclear plants. Deasel gas for short term; coal for mid and other renewable plants are our long term plan.

Nuclear power is the safest compared to others. Also don't like NTPC, makes us too reliant on India, then again, Hasina is selling Bangladesh to India.
