I always thought Mumbai ppl were north Indian, until I saw a native Marathi. Then I realize the fair ones were immigrants from other Northern States. Marathis are no different from Tamils it seems.

These kinds of tensions exist in Pakistan as well, with Sindhis & Baloch complaining about large numbers of migrants from other ethnic groups to Sindh & Balochistan, but that is part and parcel of being a unified nation.

Humans have migrated throughout history - those who call themselves 'natives of the land' were at some point in history also migrants to that land. Human migration will continue, especially within countries - the solution here is not to insult and dehumanize migrants, but for governments to work better to address the challenges that arise from migration.

Instead of criticizing internal migrants and migration, the state & national governments need to work in concert to address the challenges that arise.

Uncontrolled migration will result in strife and conflict. Most of them are Slum dwellers, criminals and rapists.
