Mumbai is the financial capital of India, correct? So how is migration of Indians from all over India (to Mumbai) different from the domestic migration of Americans to large urban centers like New York etc? Or in the case of Pakistan, domestic migration to Karachi & Lahore?

If the state's 90 pc revenue is being siphoned off to North India, how can the state government help farmers.

Do migrants to Mumbai/Maharashtra not pay direct & indirect taxes? If they don't, the fault lies with the state tax collection process.

Do they not spend their money on goods and services (renting, buying, constructing properties, spending money on food, clothing, vehicles, electronics etc) while living in Maharashtra?

New York can afford to take in migrants. Mumbai is already over its limit. These lower class migrants build slums, enroach enroach lands and overburden the collapsing infrastructure.

Karachi & Lahore (the former especially) are also ill equipped to handle the massive domestic migration that has occurred and continues to occur, but the fault there lies in the corrupt and inept provincial & city governments.

I'd argue that, similar to Karachi (and to a lesser extent Lahore), Mumbai's issues are more due to a lack of proper governance than anything else. These migrants (and the locals) should be contributing significant amounts of direct and indirect taxes as well as stimulating the local economy with their spending.

Even in the most backward sub regions like marthwada and vidarbha you see so many migrants. I was shocked to see so many bihari, gujrati and punjabi migrants in drought prone region of marathwada. It's fcking disgusting.

There are multiple schemes to help the farmers .... Urea is cheaper then may be in whole Asia , You can get 0% interest loan on Kisan credit cards .......... We have some messed up irrigation system in Vidharbh , that is primary reason behind the suicides , they are trying to move water of Narmada to Maharashtra .....
