LAHORE - Lahore Monday witnessed semblance of normalcy after three days of unrest after PAT workers clashed with anti-riot police in different parts of the province.
Although most people of Lahore resumed their routine life Monday, traffic in the Model Town area, which houses the PAT secretariat, was diverted to tackle possible protests and stone pelting incidents. Shops, schools, and business establishments located around the PAT secretariat remained closed for the third day.
Lahore’s Model Town neighbourhood was still under siege while the police on Monday cleared several roads for traffic in other parts of the provincial metropolis by removing shipping containers. Long queues of vehicles were seen at filling stations as most of the petrol pumps resumed the fuel supply.
The people heaved a sigh of relief after the public transport and inter-city buses started plying on the roads.
Police also cleared the entry and exit points of Lahore by removing containers placed at Thokar Niaz Baig, Suggian Bridge Shahdara, and GT Road.
The police had sealed off all the entry and exit points of Lahore for the public transport, disconnecting the provincial capital from other parts of the province.
Heavy police contingents, however, are deployed at many points in the city to keep the things under control while armed patrolling was intensified in the sensitive areas.
Life was crippled in Lahore since Saturday after violent clashes erupted between the PAT workers and police ahead of August 14 protests.

Normalcy returns to Lahore

Lahore was made abnormal by the Nawaz's paranoia. The protesters are calm and peaceful as they always have been. NS wanted to make a scene out of it for no reason, blocking the whole damn city, sending drones and helicopters and so on.

At Monday, Lahore also witnessed a failed circus rally by few hundred PML-N workers. It turned out to be so ebmarassing for PML-N that PM himself has to call off that rally before it reached its destination, because only a handful supporters participated in that rally.

Point to notice here is, PML-N's rally failed in heart of Lahore, from where PML-N won 12 out of 13 seats by bagging around 1.2 million votes. Still they weren't able to pull out ever 1500 workers for their rally..
