Australia's political leaders have no sympathy for a home-grown extremist wanting to return home from the Middle East.

But they have expressed serious concerns for the jihadi bride's two young children, who are trapped with her in a Syrian refugee camp for Islamic State families.

The woman, believed to be 24-year-old Zehra Duman from Melbourne, is being held at a refugee camp in north-east Syria and says she wants to come home because her baby is sick.

Prime Minister Scott Morrison pushed back against her pleas for help.

"If you're coming home, you're coming home to face the full force of the law," he said in Melbourne on Thursday.

"The great tragedy is how children get caught up in the crimes against Australia of their parents."

The prime minister said people who travelled overseas to support terrorists should be aware of the consequences.

"They have to take responsibility for those decisions to join up with terrorists who are fighting Australia," he said.

"I'm not going to put any Australian at risk to try to extract people from those situations."

Opposition Leader Bill Shorten also feels for the children and extended family involved.

"I don't have the same sympathy for the parents who have taken them to fight in a war zone - especially to fight on the ISIS side," he told reporters.

Mr Shorten questioned whether the children would be separated from their parents if they were allowed to return to Australia, asking who would look after them.

He said Australians could not travel to Middle Eastern war zones "for whatever crazy reason" and simply come home when it didn't work out.

"You make your bed, you've got to lie in it," Mr Shorten said.

"Parents who take their kids to war zones get no sympathy. What are they thinking? I don't care what their logic is. Putting your kids into that sort of situation is just selfish and wrong."

I am leaning on agreeing with you

BUT
The anti-thesis is that being harsh to these brain washed fuk-wits might give rise to another generation of weirdos/brain washed fake jihadis. As they will be reared by their mothers with the same hatred for West.

Letting them come back might help them re-integrate back into society as they might genuinely have recognized their fault. Like Pakistan Army did by opening re-integration centers for youths who were brainwashed into joining these groups i.e TTP and Baloch Groups.

On the other hand. This might be a play by the enemy to send out jihadis to Western countries.

So this is a confusing situation for me. I think Western governments are baffled by this too. Hence none of the Western governments have been tooooo vocal about this issue.

Nope, I think the big mistake was to allow this illogical and counter-intuitive idea that while sitting in some of the world's most advanced societies they would find better justice in a warzone.

People got so caught up in philosophy and bullshit, and we all tolerated it, that they lost track of the ground reality. Now let them adjust their world view and start at the bottom like 90% of the rest of the world.

It's like that hippy who thought bears were his best friend's, he used to cuddle them and sleep next to them. In the end one ate him.

I or anyone else for that matter could turn around and say that racism/nationalism/islamophobia also plays a role in marginalization of these youths around the worls. And leads them into the claws of the evil recruiters for these evil groups.

So I believe Western nations should also curb racism and Islamophobia at the homefront. The Western governments don't have to love islam. But dont marginalize muslims too.

And the muslim community should keep a watchful eye on converts and warn them about how fake the Khwariji ideology is.

You are underlining the very point I'm making, people get carried away with the 'injustices' of the developed world - and then cry to be let back into it.

No society is perfect - but things should be kept in perspective. Unfortunately you have illustrated my point about us tolerating this and even feeding into it.

You know what I don't get? These people, when they are in the height of their mania, call the "Western world" as being the root of all manner of evil. When they travel to these far fetched places and add their voice to their fellow cave dwellers, who mete out the most horrific forms of injustice on mainly innocent people, they find themselves in complete acceptance of it.

Yet, when the tables turn, they come running back and appeal to the justice and fairness of the same Western world they despise. Unbelievable.

The point that I am trying to make is yes. Now that they realize they made a mistake. And commonfolk in West are obviously going to demand strict-est action possible.

I am talking from a perspective of national. Why not have a multi faceted approach??
Punish such brainwashed people to as a deterrence to people thinking about joining these fake khawariji groups.

But also make the muslims feel inclusive. And if a country REALLY struggles with adapting to muslims then kinda leave em alone but supervised. If u get a muslim co-worker dont actively try to go and instigate him into shooting up the place.

So punish when it suits u. And otherwise keep em content when it suites u.
Western goal is no terrorism right??
So use both methods to mitigate factors that lead to a muslim youth becoming radicalized.

Obviously Islam is very different from modern Western lifestyle. But so is Judaism. In some instances far more strict.

You Aussies might not know. But I firsthand have seen Trumpmania during election campaigning and around the time that orangutan was elected. Only around recently the heat against muslims has died down.

And during the election campaign time numerous newspapers and think tanks were writing how Trump ultra-nationalist hysteria is effectively handing a steady stream of recruits to fake jihadi orgs.

They don't practice what they learn about their own religion. Everyone is discriminated or insulted in life somehow by a person from different background. Instead of running to a questionable cleric who will warp the meaning of muslim scripture to meet his recruitment quotas. Why dont these people be patient and rely on God and be patient???

As much as I have love for my Muslim brothers and sisters.

But I cant have sympathy for this women she went to a warzone and joined a terrorist group and dragged her children into her little adventure.

She brought this onto herself by immigrating to this so called fake Caliphate. Now since isis used them as cannon fodder and is collapsing the rats are abandoning ship.

To be honest, im sympathized with her.

People call me as a weak person, because my heath is too big.

I think everyone deserve a second change.

Because everyone do mistakes in their life, no one dont, including her.

But people who do mistakes is more matured and wiser. They are even became the teacher of the world.

I forgive her, whatever her sin. And its not me who can judge it too.

Just remember that God is forgiven, even how much mistakes we do in our life. Everyone have mistakes too, big or bigger, but with conscience, we hope for forgiveness and we know that God will forgive us.

Why not her too?

Many times, we hardly to forgive someone because of hardship in our life. Everyone hope for mercy, everyone.
