Nizami Being Quizzed at 'Safe Home'
Thursday, 05 May 2011

The investigation panel of the International Crimes Tribunal (ICT) has started quizzing war crimes suspect Jamaat-e-Islami chief Motiur Rahman Nizami at its 'safe home'......

Nizami, one of the five detained top Jamaat leaders facing war crimes charges, had been brought to the safe home from the Dhaka Central Jail around 9:30am, he added....

Apart from the five Jamaat leaders, two BNP leaders were also arrested on same charges since the tribunal had been formed on Mar 25 last year.

Of the two, BNP MP Salahuddin Quader Chowdhury is behind bars while Abdul Alim, a minister of Ziaur Rahman's cabinet, is on conditional bail.

Nizami Being Quizzed at 'Safe Home'

How sad that these poor chaps are being detained and interrogated.

Are they Biharis or are they Razakars?

And anyway, most BD posters have said that it is all a coc.k and bull story and that the so called attrocoties are fudged and figments of imagination!

Now, if that is right, this is inhuman that they are being detained.

Bangladesh is a free country.

What has the International Crime Tribunbal to do with things that most BD posters say never happened?

The international community is daft?

I don't agree with torture under such circumstances.

They should get a fair trail. Not harassed.

This is why I think AL are hypocrites. Boy, how I regret to have voted for them.

But are you saying that the International Crime Tribunal is of hypocrites?

In Bangladesh, anything is possible. Its like, even if you take a man's brain out, you can put it back in, fully functional.

This is Bangladesh :D

mmm...that is surprising since Chittagong is historically a very conservative place. But thanks for sharing :enjoy:

OK so the International Crime Tribunal gets bought in Bangladesh since getting bought is the norm?

These chaps are not guilty. Is that what you are trying to say?

If so, why so?

I agree with Zabanya that anything is possible in Bangladesh. Not saying whether these people are guilty or not guilty, that is for the court/trial to decide but they should receive a fair trial, one that is internationally acceptable. Also, if you talk to people well educated in this war crimes issue, they will say you that there are other people against whom allegations of war crimes are far greater, when compared to people like Motiur Rahman Nizami, Delwar Hossein Sayedee and some of the others arrested. Needless to say, the ones with greater war crime allegations are roaming around freely, this begs the question what is AL really upto with this?

That is the court's decision, not mine.

Oh no wait, its the government's

So much for "free and fair" justice

Actually in the so called safe home they are mentally torture to admit they were involve in the atrocity occurred in 1971 civil war /liberation war . they certainly encourage Pak army that they are taking action against Indian conspiracy to break Pakistan and openly supported united Pakistan instead of Bangladesh . Jamat's main political blunder was that they failed to understand that the popular support for Pakistan was diminishing over days due to the successful propaganda war by freedom fighter . so far in so called International tribunal govt has failed to provide formal allegation of them and more frightening is in this so called court most of the persecutor/investigation officer are or were the member of '''ghatok dalal nirmul comity '' or collaborator finishing commity form in 1992

I am not understanding one thing.

How can the Govt or the Court influence an International Crime Tribunal?

Bangladesh is no US!

You feel the liberation of Bangladesh was an Indian conspiracy?

I am aghast.

If you did not want Liberation then how did it happen?

After Liberation, you had adequate opportunity to rejoin Pakistan. Why did you not do so?

Zabanya's Party the BNP is pro Pakistan. They were also in power.

The Freedom Fighters are anti Bangladesh?

Or are you a Razakkar and a Bihari or a fanatic of that Oike or something?

If Nizami is guilty of killing, then fry his a**, but not for politics.

How politics?

They are not guilty?

Basically AL is removing their political opponents in the name of war crimes tribunal, nothing more nothing less.

Because this so called international court still does not have any international judges in the panel . all the member are from local and supporter of ruling party . beside many of them are former member of GHATAK DALAL NIRMUL COMITY

And yet AL has a huge majority!

Bangaldeshi here complain and on ground the AL is running a huge majority!

Funny!
