New U.S. sanctions target Hamas, Islamic State, other groups

SEPTEMBER 10, 2019

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - The United States on Tuesday announced sanctions on a “wide range of terrorists and their supporters,” including the Palestinian group Hamas and Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps, on the eve of the 18th anniversary of the Sept. 11 attacks.

The targets include 15 leaders, individuals and entities affiliated with groups such as Hamas, al Qaeda, Islamic State and Iran’s IRGC, the U.S. Treasury Department said in a statement.

The sanctions were applied using new tools from an executive order recently updated by President Donald Trump.

“Since the horrific attacks of 9/11, the U.S. government has refocused its counterterrorism efforts to constantly adapt to emerging threats,” Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin said in the statement.

“President Trump’s modernized counterterrorism Executive Order enhances the authorities we use to target the finances of terror groups and their leaders to ensure they are as robust as possible,” Mnuchin said.

Sanctioned leaders include Turkey-based Zaher Jabarin, the head of Hamas’s financial office; and Muhammad Sa’id Izadi, the chief of the IRGC-Quds Force’s Palestinian office in Lebanon.

The targets also included a Brazil-based al Qaeda member, a Maldivian national who recruits for the Islamic State branch active in Afghanistan, and an operative of the Islamic State affiliate in the Philippines, the statement said.

Several exchange houses, and a jewelry company in southern Turkey, were also designated by the Treasury.

The sanctions mean any property the targets may have in the United States would be blocked and U.S. persons would generally be prohibited from having business dealings with them.

Hamas is a holy rightly guided group following the Creator of the Universe and will never go anywhere no matter how hard the Jews try.

People who oppose Hamas are accursed and hate God.

ISIS cooperates with Israel and captures weapons shipments to Palestinians in Sinai after receiving intelligence and orders from Israel.
..
..

Hamas and Iran have nothing to do with 9/11. But, the American Jews in the US administration and dominating US government try to draw some correlation by announcing sanctions around these times. And God is preparing a major punishment for the deviated and wicked Jews who sacrifice a whole country/population to advance their objectives. They never learn.

Americans aren't occupied with the Middle East, and if it wasn't for the Jewish run media bombarding them with news about the Middle East and shaping their perspectives on the Middle East, no one in America will care. America is held hostage by dangerous people with a dangerous agenda.

God does not need a political party to represent his interests.

It is people who need a party to represent and protect their interest.

History is full of people doing tremble things in God's name.

God made his will known through the various scriptures and religions , and basically what he wants is : that we treat one another kindly.

Sorry , but i have not run across a political party that put that on their flag ...

I think it's Israel that is fixated on violence to go on offense to achieve political goals. Israel has a large military budget for its size and seeks 4 billion US military aid from the US every year. It also has a nuclear weapons program and nuclear capable submarines. And a whole ballistic and ICBM missile program.

Meanwhile Hamas hardly has any weapons and uses them in proportion when it needs to defend the Palestinian territories.

I heard you are Indian btw and not even Israeli. I hope that it is not the case as I'd be wasting my time with you. As for Hamas, it is defending Palestinian territories and God doesn't forbid that. Religion doesn't play a role in Hamas's policies. But as I said, Hamas is an movement observant of God and is much more just/open to the truth than other political parties around the world. And actually implements Islam in good faith unlike hypocritical regimes in the region.

Sorry but i am not impressed with Hamas being " observant of God "

Religion is given to people to better themselves , not to push their understanding of Islam on others.

The only way to evaluate Hamas , is by seeing whether or not he represents the interests of the people he claims to represent and has he improved their conditions and life.

From what I can see since Hamas assumed power the situation for his people only got worse.

In a normal place this question would be put the the public , who could decide whether to vote down a party that does not deliver.

But the fact of the matter is that Hamas does not allow free elections in Gaza or existence of any opposition.

Not trying to give you any impressions. Those are my views.

You have your religion and we have ours. We are majority Muslim and enjoy practicing our religion, nothing is enforced upon us.

The situation is worse due to the blockade, and the people support Hamas because of it.

Hamas was elected into power, and called for elections many times, and gave up power totally in Gaza but the PA and international players want military disbanded which will not happen ever. That's suicide and its our God given right to have a military to protect our people from an expansionist country.
