KARACHI:
Indus Motor Company (IMC) has announced that it will unveil the new Corolla 2011 model next week.

The new XLi and GLi variants will offer new headlamps, sporty front grill and bumpers, along with redesigned tail lamps, according to a statement issued on Thursday.

IMC announced that the new increased prices of the Xli and GLi variants would be Rs1,399,000 and Rs1,529,000, respectively.

The company added that the price has been increased due to the inflationary trend that has put enormous pressure on IMC in the last one year.

The cost of just the local components/parts has increased by Rs40,000, claimed the press release

The company also claimed to have been absorbing most increases in costs due to rising oil prices due and strong yen.

With the present law and order situation no foreign or local investor is willing to invest the kind of money required to setup an auto assembly plant in Pakistan. These three companies are doing an excellent job especially Indus, I know that during the economic crises in 2008/2009 both Honda and Suzuki layed off hundreds of their employees, but Indus did not lay-off a single person despire sever economic pressures.

The basic reasons for ever increasing car prices in Pakistan are ever falling Rupee value, a very strong Japenese Yen, and increase in raw material prices the world over. Import of used vehicles and mal practices of used vehicle importers (under invoicing, mis declarations) are adversly affecting the local auto sector.

Do you have any indigenous car manufacturing company in Pakistan?
Since every one have his own definition of indigenous... so it is useless to answer your question.

Can you explain, Why? It will be business to Business relation, not govt to govt.

@batman:
Such a move will help us both. It will certainly help our tata and mahindra.

Yes the key word is business, future car industry is China. Therefore i promote Chinese partners.
