IN North Africa they were promised that if they fought alongside they would gain Independence from the British.

Many African and Asian countries allied with Germany or the Axis, and it was mainly because the allies were colonial powers back then and the colonies wanted freedom.

There was also a SS unit made of Indians Fighting the British in North Africa I will try find a pictures of it.

I don't know that any of these are actual SS since originally the SS had to trace their Aryan ancestory several hundred years, be over six feet tall and have no fillings.

At any rate the Germans were running out of men so it does not suprise me that they would use people deemed inferior, i'm sure if Germany would have won the war those same people would have been shot and thrown into mass graves.
