  • On April 21 and 22, NATO command base in Ramstein, in collaboration with the Latvian National Armed Forces, will organize military air exercises for the twentieth time in the Baltic air space, the Latvian Defence Ministry informed LETA.

    Participating in the largest air exercise to date will be ten NATO member states - Belgium, Germany, Spain, Estonia, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Norway, Poland, and the United States - as well as two member states of the Partnership for Peace program - Finland and Sweden.

    The aim of the exercise is to improve quick reaction alert functions of units participating in the Baltic Air Policing mission, as well as close air support functions and air space control services' communications procedures.

    The main part of the exercise will take place on the Adazi firing ground.

Baltic states doesnt have Airforce and the only country which is able to stand against Russian Airforce is the Polish Airforce.

Now the NATO response force needs 48 hours earlier it was 72 hours.
 
Canada has stationed few F-18 Hornets in Lithuania to provide Baltic states protection from Russians.

Canadian Airforce fighter planes were stationed on Baltic Air Policing.

On April 30 a formal rotation ceremony of air contingents deployed on the NATO Baltic Air Policing Mission was took place at the Lithuanian Air Force Base in Šiauliai. Following a four-month rotation and an augmentation the United States' Air Contingent was replaced by Polish military with four Mig-29 fighter jets. Their mission, too, was strengthened by 4 Eurofighter Typhoon fighter jets contributed by the United Kingdom.

The ATF participated in the NATO Baltic Air Policing (BAP) mission from September to December 2014 and was based in Siauliai, Lithuania. ATF Lithuania included approximately 135 personnel, four CF-188 Hornet fighter jets along with a mission support element.

The BAP mission was handed over by Portugal and Canada to Italy and Poland respectively. Although Canada formally handed over its BAP mission responsibilities to Poland, the ATF continued to actively support BAP operations until 5 January 2015, to ensure continuity of operations and to support NATO allies and security partners in the interim transition period.
 
21-22 April. Baltic air space will be held in the twentieth NATO air exercise capacity (Eng. BRTE XX). This time the main workout host country - Latvia. The two-day exercise will take part in the Air Force representatives from ten NATO countries and two partner countries.

On the first day of training will take place in simulated air battles, the general partner of NATO procedures compatibility improvements. Training program, which will take place in all three Baltic air spaces, will take part in the Belgian, Spanish, Italian, Polish, Norwegian, Finnish, Swedish and German fighters. Exercise during refueling in the air will take care of German and American aircraft. Using a multi-functional partners in the region will be trained in the pre-aircraft air attack leaders Latvian Adazi Training Area. The second day will be simulated search and rescue operation, using Latvian Air Force helicopter.

During his visit to Estonia Minister of Defence of Ukraine General of the Army of Ukraine Stepan Poltorak visited Estonia’s Amari Airbase.

The Ukrainian military delegation met with airbase leaders, aircraft crews, toured the base and airfield.

Particularly, the Ukrainian delegation was briefed on capabilities of the NATO Air Policing.

NATO Air Policing is a peacetime mission which aims to preserve the security of Alliance airspace. It is a collective task and involves the continuous presence — 24 hours a day, 365 days a year — of fighter interceptor aircraft, which are ready to react quickly to airspace violations and infringements.
