Rakshak is a good name! Rafale in French means 'strong gust'. So if we did not already have a jet in the 60's called 'Toofani', this would have been a good name. Of course, the original 'Toofani' was teased a lot as ' 2 Fanny'

One correction though: The Mig 23 was called the 'Vijay' ( the Victorious one) in the IAF.

The Mig-23MF in IAF service was called the "rakshak"
And the Mig-23BM was called the "Vijay".
