That battle took place near "jehlum river" not in modern "jehlum district". The course of Jehlum river is quite long and it passes through many districts of punjab. I think the point of encounter between alexander and Porus near Jehlum river bank was in the area of "Bhera" which is a tehsil of Sargodha district.
