The separatist movement could be helped by China as one of the ethnic group who fight the Junta is Chinese.

If junta can be defeated, then more likely democracy will be restored due to the support of Aung San Sukyi party under this unity, all regions with significant minority will get autonomy, more likely Federalism system will be applied.

If that is the case, Myanmar will likely be pro West and pro China as well. Not every thing can be seen by using pro West and anti West perspective

Recently they change side somewhat and allow Western private security to station in Kokang.

This is the reason China ask her proxy to start a war.

In exchange you hear no Rohingya genocide these days.

Don’t start counting the chickens yet.

The military junta have fortified their presence in every aspect of Burmese life for the past 6 decades.

The downfall of Burma from what it used to be is hollowing. You have 50 above who were highly educated, had good exposure, a good understanding of the world they live in as opposed to the younger folks who’re illiterate had no opportunities or exposure.

Suu Kyi is not an ideal replacement either. She harbors authoritarian traits and is an Islamophobic.

ASEAN doesn’t like to interfere in each other’s internal affairs. One can only hope the military junta implodes as there are pockets of resistance in a few parts and someday Burma becomes a thriving democracy.

The entire army is founded by Aung San Suu Kyi father Bogyoke Aung San and entire Myanmar elites are scion and relative of army. Actually army and Aung San family has good relationship.

It is not as if Bogyoke Aung San has no male off springs. Mr Aung San Oo is the REAL main branch of the family.

Aung San Suu Kyi is a loser in life and keep failing exams, went Oxford because of privillege background. Then she married Michael Aris who had lots of women outside marriage. She separated with husband went back Myanmar alone.

She was a housewife.

Suddenly USA and Suu Kyi make plans to subvert Myanmar. Suddenly Suu Kyi became a rock star.

But then Suu Kyi did not want to betray her country too much. Her western backers got dissappointed. White man want to kill A LOT of people in Myanmar.

Honestly, the real chaos will erupt when the government has been overthrown. Most of the ethnic armies are not fighting for Myanmar, they are fighting for independence. Once the government is gone, it will become a free for all.

Min Leon and Aung San Suu Kyi are both waiting for the Chinese government to vent their anger. When the Chinese government brings all targets back to China for trial, Min Leon and Aung San Suu Kyi will engage in a final battle.
