My Pakistan Dream Becomes Reality !

During one of my visits to Pakistan in 2019, I was taken to a place called Gulberg Green situated at some 30 minutes drive from Islamabad. It is a new development now termed as the new Islamabad. What impressed me in this sector was the trend of what's called farmhouses. One side of the sector is destined for entire developments of these farmhouses, with each building outmatching the next in both size and design.
Anyways, after much deliberation I finally took the plunge and now some three years later and travelling back and forth thousands of miles, my project is almost completed. Thus planning to return to Pakistan again after new year (انشاءاللہ) to live the dream.

The Land acquired is illegal under pretext of building a farm simply put . where buyer is making a Mansion

The lands were Forest trees before were chopped down to acquire it under pretext of farming. During early days of Discussion of Islamabad city there were big objections why the only green area of region was being destroyed under name of "construction"

This area was prime for Tree growth and part of natural forestation

As deforestation is not desired in only green area of Pakistan , the farm house word was invented to circumvent the Law , that while trees were chopped down , the land will be used to grow farm and live animals

While the properties in area are enormous and 'Unaffordable' by many people , I doubt the legality of usage of land meant for forestation or farming

Prior to building of Islamabad , Islamabad was known as major green area in Rawalpindi-Islamabad area - so naturally the Civilians had objected to such land being converted into Cemented buildings


From Legal perspective all these "FARM" houses are illegal if they don't have legitimate farm

Please don't make assumptions just for the sake of it. What cultivation could possibly be done in the heart of a city, even Imran Khan's residence in Banni Gala is called a farmhouse as was Pervez Musharraf's accommodation in Chak Shehzad. Farmhouses are basically countryside living in the city. As for chopping down trees, well on the contrary , Gulberg Green has a 200 strong workforce who constantly maintain the green belts and forever planting trees. Shrubs and bushes to maintain the eco environment hence the name Gulberg GREEN. People decend there from Rawalpindi and surrounding areas for picnics or simply to enjoy the clean healthy environment.

I agree with you the constructions done on the land is expensive build like a Millionaire mansion

These are 15 Million Dollar - 20 Million Dollar property from US standards

Such wealth is out of reach of Normal working class Pakistani demographic

Cost of Construction is Exponentially high in present day in Pakistan

Recently viewing homes in Pakistan I could not believe the high prices being demanded , it would take be 10 life times to earn that kind of Property figures being demanded

For country where water comes in tankers, police comes after 2 weeks of incident

If you look at their youtube videos they are proudly claiming the houses are built from imported materials.
These obscene constructions do not suit the economic and social situation in Pakistan. People living in these mansions are numb to the fact that people from outside these oasis badly want to burn these properties to ground along with those living in them.

Pakistan's only economic activity and industry, more over inflated housing schemes built on prime farm lands...no value addition or industrial/manufacturing production not even human capital development through first grade university or educational institutions.

Just keep building these idiotic housing scheme so that fat bellied hair plug sporting whisky chugging colonial sepoy generals can continue to smuggle dollars abroad to build wealth portfolios abroad while screwing their home country in the process.

depends where in the US. In the coastal metros you can get a nice duplex apartment for 15M to 20M or a nice house in a good suburb. A mansion such as the ones in the photos (many of them along 101, should be low 20s upwards

I have seen these videos or similar some of such buildings are just over the top

It's not possible to own such property unless you have tremendous amount of wealth

Well it is true the social divide is tremendously large between the working
class in Pakistan earning 30,000 Rupees per month

For them they can't even imagine to own such land /property even with Bank Mortgage it is impossible

But would imagine it is doable for someone , who may have sold their home overseas and is returning back to Pakistan and they also have very good Business or Job Overseas

It is no doubt a big investment , but still must be Joyful to be back living in Pakistan

This one is also nice

It's built poorly architecturally and the interior is ugly. It's a failed attempt to make it look European It's not even close to what it is in Europe. I feel we have become a laughing stock copying others like we have inferiority complexes. My view is if one is building a house in Pakistan traditional architecture and resources should always be considered. Sadly we have always under estimated it.
