This man's name, his family's and the IAF's have been dragged through the mud for almost 2 years now, finally the truth is out (soon the CBI will say as much). Never a shred of evidence against the IAF or it's former chief and yet all this drama has gone on because some criminals in Italy have pointed fingers at the IAF even though (as Mr Tyagi points out), the procurement system worked from top to bottom and signed off on it, the IAF played but a small part in all this.

Interesting to note it is made clear that a rival firm seems to be, at least in part, behind the campaign to malign this deal -this seems to be a major blind spot in the Indian Military procurement system that has been exploited or at least an attempt has been made to exploit it, in countless deals now.

Lessons need to be learnt or this will go on and on and will affect countless Indian Military procurements.

Nothing Antony could do after the Italians accused the firm of bribery & arrested the CEO. The Italians have done a bit of plea dealing here, plea to one crime & we will let you & the company of the hook on the other. Have no doubts that there was corruption involved.

Gautam khaitan was arrested because there was some money laundering.3600 crores did come through various channels to India and was distributed here.Then who got the money and for what???
May be Mr.Tyagi and his cousins were not involved but what about the others?? Or did I read it all wrong?

Italian Bitch got money and our brave soldiers faces inquiries and maligning of thier impression. The letter of Augusta west land clearly states that Sonia and her close ones to be contacted to get the deal through. This is not the first time. Even ISRO scientist were harassed when MM gave go ahead to ISRO Devas deal. Nambi narayan was arrested and torcherred.

When you finally start to move away of this nonsense rant against him! The deal is obviously effected by corruptions, only because the former Air Chief was now cleared by CBI, doesn't mean the deal is clear. In fact there were arrests made and even the fact that the Italians have made a deal with their court, rather then getting out clean, shows that there are issues. And it's simple logic that must made investigations against the former Chief necessary, when it was evident that money was paid to his relatives, but investigating him doesn't mean he is guilty, infact exactly these investigations have cleared him now from any relations right? He might complain about the lack of support, but that doesn't make investigations wrong or unnecessary.

I wouldn't support the fools part, but we clearly are lead too often by emotions. Hate, pride, blind support... and this thread pretty much shows that too. We like to point fingers, especially to politicians (since they are always the devils), we like to believe things are always bad, while ignoring the good things and always goes to the exteem side not the midway (corruption is bad, but we hate the people that tries to do something against it, LCA is delayed because scientists and managers failed, but we are proud of them and celebrating every new prototype, we blindly support parties and find excuses for their shortcomings...).
