Munter apologizes for incident at Sunehri Mosque in Lahore

US Ambassador Cameron Munter on Saturday apologized for incident occurred at Sunehri Mosque in Lahore.
It should be mentioned here that during ambassador’s visit to the mosque, one officer of ambassador entered in the mosque without removing his shoes.
In a statement, the ambassador said “I was saddened and disappointed to learn that one of my officers entered Lahore's Sunehri Mosque during my visit there this morning without removing his shoes.
I offer my sincere apologies over this incident. The team that I lead at the U.S. Embassy and our consulates shares with me the deepest respect for Pakistan's holy places. I value my visit to Sunehri Mosque and I am honored by our contribution to the restoration work there.”
