@ At the 11th hour when ballot counting was going on in two municipal areas Nilphamari and Bogra AL tried to snatch away the ballot boxes but finally BNP also win in these municipalities.

@ Now, "pushchip digonte surjo doveche, ructo lal, ructo lal
".

@ Today, in Khulna and Barishal in 49 municipalities election will be held. Hope for the best. But I assume the AL' terrors will not allow it so easily. By this time they will hire all the mustans of other districts along with the failer mastans of Rangpur and Rajshai Division to move on towards Khulna and Barishal.

@ What a surprising that even the Jammat has won in 5 municipalities!! I think Jammat has won with the help of Pakistani ISI. Very soon, we will see, the "Anada Bazar" from Calcatta will bring out a big editorial about the involvement of ISI in the local election of Bangladesh.[/I]

BNP candidate declared winner in Syedpur
Thu, Jan 13th, 2011 6:01 pm

Nilphamari, Jan 13 (bdnews24.com)—The BNP-backed mayoral candidate has been declared the winner in Syedpur municipality polls, held on Wednesday.

Returning officer Sabina Alam on Thursday declared the results based on 26 out of 27 centres, since a sack of ballot papers were snatched by an unsuccessful councillor aspirant.

Syedpur BNP general secretary and former MP Amzad Hossain Sarker won the polls with 28,987 votes, defeating Jatiya Party-backed Siddiqul Alam who polled got 11,074 votes.

Elections in the 72 municipalities of Rangpur and Rajshahi were held on Wednesday, but results announced for 71 municipalities, excluding Syedpur.

With this poll victory, BNP-supported candidates won mayoral posts in 32 municipalities, while those Awami League-backed won in 18.

Returning officers declared five Awami League rebel candidates and four breakaway BNP candidates elected.

Independent runners won six municipalities, followers of Jamaat-e-Islami five and those of Jatiya Party two municipalities.

The Election Commission said the elections were peaceful and fair, barring some stray incidents of clashes in the two divisions.

They will manipulate the result after the massive failure under fair poll. Awami munafiq bharati dalal league can not win without the help of the terrorist and their Hindu masters.

@ Al-zakir, have you marked it is now almost 0830 pm Bangladesh time, till now no results ? Ony two result has declared, one is from AL and another is from another AL(rebel).

@ I think, they are planning something grave in nature !!!!!

@ What do you think the out of Dhaka Division ?

@ AL had the past record of killing the leaders of oppossion parties. The above 42 persons of BNP and Jammat has now became soft targets of AL.

@ So-far I know most of the top and middle ranking leaders of ML, PDP, Nizam-e-Islami, Jammat and left linning(pro-China) were brutally killed during and post liberation war. Those who who survived were put on jail under Collabarrators Act of 1973. Many flade to Pakistan and other muslim countries. Some flade to USA and UK.

@ In the true sense in those days hardly any person survived whether he is a politicians, VD member, Lecturer, Professors, Lawyers, Businessman etc. All most all sensible man were affected. Question of non-Bengalees does not arise at all, they were all elliminated from the society. What a revolution ?

Don't you think you guys are being too biased? Why don't you believe peoples verdict? During the election of 1991 BNP won because they deserved it. But they failed to continue their goodwill therefore AL won the next time, well AL did the same corruption thing in a greater extent so BNP won again after that. But BNP didn learn from their mistake so they had to lose the previous election.
AL is following the same route(well this time its dalaligiri) and people wll give their verdict again (guess who).
If some of you always cry 'bout rigged election it gets annoying. I mean come on believe in your country. We are working hard everyday to shine in front of others leave the damned politics to the politicians......

well just my two cents.........
never mind all of you are brothers anyway..

Sylhet and Chittagong are the strong hold for BNP-Jamat alliance due to conservative nature of the region. They should do well if there aren't any manipulation takes place.

Once thing settle down and I am hopeful that four party Islamic alliance will take the majority countrywide then there should be a all out movement to oust them munafiq dalal from power. People of Bangladesh should not have to wait any longer. :smokin:

I understand where your coming from. But this country is known for its conspiracies with awami league in power. Back in 1996 elections, I know a lot of people who couldn't vote because they were BNP orgins. read the book Amar Fashi Chai by sheikh hasina personal assistant and you will get a glimpse of her traits.
