Those who arranged Lakhvi's release yesterday were hawks, those who reversed it today were more prudent hawks, they realized that the timing of his release was wrong and it sent wrong kind of signal to the world.
Pakistan can't afford to lose their Kashmir war by going after the elements who are fighting it for last few decades.

I believe that the Pakistani authorities were provided with the recordings of the calls between the terrorists and their handlers. They were also provided with confessions from the captured terrorist as well as other evidence they could get their hands on.

The operations were planned in Pakistan, the alleged training happened in Pakistan, the trainers, the planners the handlers were all in Pakistan. India doesn't have access to these places or to Pakistani nationals in Pakistan. It was the responsibility of the Pakistani authorities to gather further information against these people who have committed these acts but it seems they have been unwilling to act against them. Many people think that the Pakistanis don't act against them because these guys are supported by the Pakistani establishment.

This is where India makes sense and then suddenly stops being sensible altogether. Pakistan wanted India to let it be part of Investigations on Indian side also wanted India to be part of investigations on Pakistan side. This is what you call a "Joint Investigation". If India thinks that Pakistan is not sincere, Pakistan even had given it an option to get investigations through Interpol which India refused flatly. This act from India is illogical and uncomprehending to the levels it can be!

There is another and a serious loop in the case agianst Lakhvi. Even when Pakistan would want to prosecute him and they tried to prove case against Hafiz Saeed and Lakhvi in the court of law before, several times in previous government and this government. Pakistan as a state went to the point where its interrior menister went to supreme court and pleaded to keep Hafiz Saeed under detention as he is alleged but court demanded evidence which India couldn't provide or let Pakistan gather those being part of investigations. What is the result now? Hafiz Saeed is free and Lakhvi is also being set free - solely because there are no legal qualifications to detain them. Can India look at this picture?

Following the lines of India, United States of America announced bounty in helping "arrest" of Hafiz saeed and then he appeared on the TV and told which X and Y Coordinates he was and was available for inquiry and when happened then? USA had to change its position and rather said bounty was to generate evidence against him and not for the arrest.

When India think Pakistan is not acting, Indians need to understand India is one major roadblock in making it happen and the top reason is its unwillingness to let Pakistani Investigators investigate those terrorist acts together with India. I hope some minds in India are able to comprehend this part and pressurize on their government to make this happen.

Even if events like this can't make our neighbour realize that there is no good terrorist i don't know what will....only good terrorist is a dead terrorist ,i am sure there are elements within Pakistan that want these scums alive but i am quite sure that maximum of Pakistanis want nothing more than to wipe all of them out of their land .I hope humanity prevails this time instead of lust for ghazwa e Hind

mate you re bieng too pessimistic, stop seeing everything from the lens of your east/west Bengal phenomenon , read history there was no east/west Punjab before 47 but there was an issue of east/east Bengal as far back as 1906,( had you guys let them have it, things might not have gone this bad) if anything Punjab & KPK were congress allies as late as1946 !
yes there are issues, between Pakistan & India , but that doesn't mean that it cannot be resolved, yes there are hawks, but then there are also those who strongly advocate Indo-Pak peace, after all Najam Sethi, Hassan Nissar, Wasim Akram, Imtiyaz Alam are Pakistanis themselves , in fact it was not the "prudent" hawks But the civil-society of Pakistan, that condemned the bail of Lakhwi & pressurised the gov't to not to release him & that's why he was detained because the people of Pakistan wanted him detained
