Mulan star Liu Yifei called for support of HongKong police

Nothing wrong with being patriotic, the right and freedom to do so is basic human right.

If they were so patriotic, then they shouldn't have left their country.

Can you imagine a flag waving truck driving Texan redneck moving to China or France, naturalizing as a Chinese or French and then still going around waving an American flag? That's right, you couldn't imagine it because that picture is too ridiculous.

people have different reasons for migration, so after migration ethnic groups cannot remain patriotic or protest out on the street hoisting their national flags? There goes freedom of speech, the right to voice their opinion.

It's hypocrisy. They voted with their feet when they migrated to a different country.

someone here does not quite understand the definition between hypocrisy and democracy. We all can agree to disagree with what tower9 thinks.

I say put your money where your mouth is. Don't be an American on paper and be a Chinese nationalist in person. This is why I can't stand those protesters in Australia, Canada and the US waving Chinese flags. What the **** are they doing in the West if they love China so much?
Kindly change your Chinese flag first.

She is 10 years old when his family decide to migrate to US and now you blame her? You think a 10 years old can made decision themselves? They are under parent guidance.

I think @tower9 is ABC, probably not Indian.

Is tower9 not a hypocrite himself? He did say people living abroad should not be deeply involved with politics of land of origin, yet he is involved in criticizing China on the political level ranging from Tibet Uyghur to Hong Kong just to name a few. Double standards?

I'm not a hypocrite because if I was a Chinese nationalist living in another country, then I'd be a hypocrite. BTW, I am just commenting on these threads here and most of my opinions are fact based and fair.

Instead of referring to his earlier comment on involving in politics he has redirected at being a nationalist is the definition of being a hypocrite. I know where he is coming from, as long you criticize China then it's fine.
