What is strange in this? This is quite a common human trait. Each person has a certain narrative, about an issue and he grades people positive, who support that narrative, and negative, who oppose it. Objectivity is very rare in politics and religion.

Why would any muslim support a hindutva india where they and their culture are under threat and attack over a secular india where they are atleast equal indians
