Iranian police have shut more than 500 restaurants in Tehran, with the capital’s police chief alleging they defied “Islamic principles.”

They will now join a list of forbidden activities in the republic that includes public dog walking.

“The owners of restaurants and cafes in which Islamic principles were not observed were confronted, and during this operation, 547 businesses were closed and 11 offenders arrested,” local police website quoted Hossein Rahimi as saying on Saturday.

Fars news agency said the operation was carried out over the past 10 days by members of elite police “Islamic morality” patrols.

The infractions included “unconventional advertising in cyberspace, playing illegal music and debauchery”, Fars reported.

“Observing Islamic principles is … one of the police’s main missions and responsibilities,” the police chief said.

Also on Saturday, the head of Tehran’s guidance court, which deals with “cultural crimes and social and moral corruption,” called on Tehran citizens to report cases of “immoral behavior” by texting a designated phone number.

“People would like to report those breaking the norms but they don’t know how… We decided to accelerate dealing with instances of public immoral acts,” Mohammad Mehdi Hajmohammadi told the judiciary’s Mizan Online.

Citizens can report instances of those driving without “hijabs in cars,” “hosting mixed dance parties” or posting “immoral content on Instagram,” he said.

This is not the first time a harsh version of Islamic law has been invoked in Iran against the general population.

As Breitbart News reported, authorities in Tehran reportedly banned the walking of dogs in public spaces in January in a move reportedly aimed at discouraging dog ownership, considered a Western deviance by the Islamic regime.

Talking to the state-run Young Journalists Club, Tehran Police Chief Hossein Rahimi claimed that dogs were “creating fear and anxiety” among the general population.

“We have received permission from the Tehran Prosecutor’s Office, and will take measures against people walking dogs in public spaces, such as parks,” he explained.

On one hand you appreciate erdogan, no matter Pakistanis adore him as the champion of Islam, he remains as the pm of a secular nation which he wants to keep secular.
And on the other hand you are appreciating a mullah regime....
You are supporting North and south.

We know that pro-Israeli, separatist, corrupt elements have infiltrated in Iranian police and military, politics.
First by simply having enough information about Islam, they fool anti-nationalist grandpa assembly/guardian council and pass that filter, then they infiltrate, then they hit Iran by protoming separatism in parliament, by stealing money and escaping to west. And if they infiltrate in police, military, they take measures like in this article to divide the society instead of focusing on our fight against zionism and financial corruption. Jew led media loves spreading this kind of news and they are the first to report these kind of news.

Iran is an Islamic country with Islamic social laws, which is congurous with ancient Iranian culture as well.

Contrary to your anti-Zionism claim, Zionists' biggest goal is to spread their corrupted culture in Iran.
Netanyahu: attack Iran with pop culture

You are right, Zionist agents have infiltrated in our system, and up to the presidency I would say, First they allow and spread the western corrupted culture in the name of (kind) Islam, and then later (in the name of same Islam) they claim a fake operation to shut down few of them.

The Islamic "layer of defence" against westernization and corrupt american-zionist culture is not always effective. In Iran we've even seen a massive invasion of western culture: people letting out dogs, western like music, materialism/individualism etc. We even see that some muslim figures inside islamic republic welcome western cultural invasion of Iran (khatami, zibakalam and more, these people were part of the islamic revolution).

Then we have even conservatives like ghazipour who wants to introduce zionist instruments like federalism/separatism/ethnic-nationalism into Iran, just like reformist khatami who recently talked about federalism.

So then we have to look at other solutions outside of the islamic frame, because islamic system has proven that it is not zionist-proof or zionist-free. In China and North Korea we have for example the "kufri" atheist communist system, which has positive effects against western-zionist culture, (mind you I don't fully agree with those systems, but look at them, both have nuclear weapons and they easily execute financial mob members unlike Iran where financial mob either is part of the islamic system or simply escapes to zionist countries with billions of Iranian money).

What is the solution or what directions should we go? there are different ideas which I will explain. Look to lebanon for example, the following point is interesting there. While resistance parties like hezbollah are active, they don't harass people on streets or in restaurants by morality police and part of their followers are christians, nationalists and maybe even atheists who are against zionism and zionist hegemony. And these people listen to music, don't have hijab, and maybe some of them even drink beer/wine and dance. So you cannot and must not force everyone to follow the islamic system/rules, even if you are an islamic party or government.

The only solution for Iran is to accept a mix of movements in framework of anti-zionism and national Iranian interests and move away from conservative islamism. Change the constitution and write down that only parties who serve Iranian interests are allowed to participate in elections, those parties are not allowed to be based on ethnicity or language, those parties are not allowed to receive funds from foreign countries or zionists, those parties should serve Iranian national interests and independency, those parties are not allowed to have members who have/had double nationality, and those parties should respect the Iranian identity and culture, the pre-islamic, post-islamic one. Any party or individual member who wants to pass these red line will be persecuted.

In one move those who cry that there is no freedom in Iranian politics and that there is no freedom of lifestyle will be silenced, while anti-zionism and defence against their corrupt ideas will become much stronger, especially if nationalist Iranians are allowed to enter the field. The government will have a broad support base and country will become much stronger.

Now the society is divided, for example recent polls about compulsary hijab showed that 50% of the people are against such rule, so the government has to adjust, else the zionists will exactly point the pressure on these topics just to introduce their filthy ideas into Iran. Especially because all other parties/political ideas were supressed by islamic republic, people will blame all mistakes in the country on the system, while if we had a mix of multi-party system (who work within Iranian framework) people would not think like that, they would simply vote against those who they think are responsible for the mess. But now, because we have besically a one-movement/one-party system (islamic republic), people will blame the system and zionists are investing heavily in these weak points of our society and government.

Zionists are scared to death from nationalism, they will never forget Hitlers national-socialism. It's their nightmare. No jews or ex-jews (like asgaroladi, saeed emami) should ever again be allowed to enter Iranian politics and all current jews in Iran should be deported to Israel and never again allowed to become citizens of Iran. If they enter important positions, they will destroy the country from within, like parasites abusing their hosts.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Habibollah_Asgaroladi

I know islamists are easily fooled by zionist jews, but if we nationalists reach power, we will grab their throats.

Erdogan has inherited a secular nation but he is trying to turn it around.

I understand the Iranians are shia and we have our differences but according to many Sunni ulema including Shaykh Yaqoubi they are not out of the folds of Islam....therefore we are one ummat. At least they are trying to do some good rather our secular lot

Erdogan is doing no such thing.
Pakistanis and their little fancies...
The champions of ummah here in Pakistan have idolised a very fake Islamic leader who is not even now popular in Turkey but more popular in Pakistan...

fortunately extremist people are still a minority in our motherland.

Define extremism...we are Muslims. It seems that our norms and mindsets of society have changed to such an extent that we now consider haram ....halal.

I understand that dogs are required for blind ppl/ security reasons ....but as a fashion accessory / lifestyle ?

And debauchery? Come on people we are not these gore or Hindus for whom anything goes

The end of this sort of lifestyle equals to destruction of the fabric of society. I’v lived in the UK for 30years and travelled the western world and I know how broken their society - do we really wan to follow their path?

My cousin and friends were in Istanbul on the 27th of Ramadan and they prayed taraweeh namaz in a masjid there. Tayyib Erdogan led the last few rakaats of taraweeh namaz. That itself is proof that he is not secular.

Under his watch seerat e Nabi is now becoming compulsory in schools for teenagers...that’s what I call changing mindsets of the next generation.

The failure of the coup itself is proof that the nation approves of Erdogan. Yes he is losing popularity to and I agree with the Arsene Wenger analogy because I am also an Arsenal fan (lol), but I fear if secularists are elected after Erdogan, they will do undo his work.
