Moldova to move embassy to Jerusalem

Ukraine is going back to the Russophere in my opinon because number they are Slavic so they have more in common with Russia still besides Ukraine is worse off than it was before maidan Zelensky looks soft too plus the EU isn't interested in expansion cause it's been drain on richer western European states plus Russia is making excellent gas pipeline deals with Europe this the only upset folks will be Washington I say Georgia is lost cause besides they are caucasian anyways also Russia still has Azerbaijan sort off in their cards

Well, not sure about that one. There is great anti-Russia sentiments currently in Ukraine due to the war and Crimea. Them being Slavic is what it is IMO. Look at Poland. Slavic too. Yet deeply tied to the West historically and nowadays. They won't ever join the Russian sphere again. Same with Slovakia and the Czech Republic. Balkans? No need to say more other than Serbia who are pro-Russia for historical reasons and due to Orthodoxy and recent history (Yugoslav-NATO war and Russian help for Serbian independence movements against the Ottomans). Bulgaria has a similar history like Serbia with Russia. Slovenians and Croats have zero exposure to Russia. Muslim Bosniaks similar.

Well, my impression is that the ordinary Ukrainian wants closer ties to Europe and NATO due to the economic prospects and due to Ukraine being a mess all the time when it was under the Russian sphere. I see them being a strong future partner of Poland and that Visegrad group of mostly anti-migration Slavs in EU and Orban in Hungary.

I never knew about any nuclear program in Romania but I knew that they were part of the 3 "odd ones" in the communist bloc. Albania that allied with China under Hoxha and Yugoslavia that broke off from the USSR. Since the USSR did not border them directly and they bordered Western Europe and NATO (Greece, Austria and Italy across the Adriatic) they could afford to be more independent.

In any case, communism (in practice) proved to be a great failure by large. What was achieved of good was not because of communism but in spite of it. Sure, the average Ivan and Ivanka might say that it was better under communism but we both know why that is. Mostly the old generation left delusionized and with small pensions dreaming about past glory.

I am no Communist I consider myself more of a Nationalist but if there was few communist on paper states I like Tito Yugoslavia,PRC,and Vietnam ,Josip Broz Tito Era was pretty good Yugoslavia was a more closer to what Deng Xiaoping China model in fact a lot of those reforms known as market socialism came from Yugoslavia its shame it broke apart cause all of these greedy ethnic leaders wanted a piece of a pie now they are poor lack of birth rates and folks leaving en masse

If you would have asked me like a year ago I would have say the same thing but even the Visegrad group is more in favor of improving ties with Moscow Orban and Putin get along pretty well plus Poland and Czech were always closer to Central Europe cause they were Catholic Ukraine is mostly orthodox tho you did have a spilt last year I think at the end of the day Brussels has given up on expansion NATO well tho still a force Trump only cares for protection money the only problem is that Washington needs a bogeyman still so why not Russia to scare the Baltics and Poles plus the Georgians Trump is basically not giving a damn about Ukraine as much as Obama letting become frozen conflict Europe well like I said those pipeline deals with Russia are talking no more caring about Ukraine these days

If OIC has a spine and intention then they should Sanction little Moldova for this act and cripple them with economic sanctions.

The OIC has no political power as an organization. it is the member states that define it. Since the member states (Muslim world) do not have a united stance on almost anything, there cannot be any such political moves. Besides that I do not think that many if any Muslim countries trade with Moldova. What is there to trade with? Not sure.

Fair enough. You might be right and I understand your logic. Anyway thanks for the short talk.

There us barely any trade with Moldova besides Turkey maybe but Moldova is irrelevant let's say Russia did it most likely will not and not for they like Muslims but they need to get along with both Arab states with arms deals plus Iran regarding Syria

Why did it decline?
Because Soviet Union spent enormous money on development of Western Republics - Baltics and Moldova. All their goods were exported to Russia for good money. Now they simply have no markets and their best product is cheap workers for West.
South and East of Ukraine are pro-Russian not pro-Western. This region even historically called "New Russia".
