Modi holds meeting with Erdogan of Turkey

Hope they are not coordinating their moves against GSP+ of Pakistan. Both are serious about economic growth of their respective countries.

Countries should do business and cooperation since India is no enemy to us. But Turkey won't be into something that can hurt Pakistan as an output.

P.S.: Why Modi does that fake hug everywhere?

We just care about India's relationship with Turkey with no relation to 3rd party , Turk - Pak relations are irrelevant to us
Hugging is his style of diplomacy just like a handshake

Symbolic diplomacy, I really don't know. It's just cringe at this point.

Hugging is about giving a massage about partnership of the states and it is fine... I hope trade will incrase...

It's really weird. When he tried to hug Angela Merkel, he was promptly rejected.

I believe rejecting a foreign leader about that kind of simple thing like hughing is not the right diplomatic language. Not a Real problem of course.

Anyway, it might be just cultural... we Turks, hug our close friends so it is understandible in our culture.

Same here, but we dont hug strangers or the ones we are meeting first time. Hand shake is the norm in those meetings.

Correct, like I said, we hug our close friends... but if it will benefit our trade and interests with India, Modi can even kiss Tayyip Erdogan, and I wouldn't mind...

Hugging isn't a diplomatic norm at all. You do it to your close friends and relatives you know personally.

I think that is kind of the point. It is a power display in the sense it makes some leaders slightly uncomfortable and off guard, but also shows affection and a willingness to form a personal as well as professional relationship.

I would say it is similar to trump’s infamous handshake in that sense, but not as crude
