^^ Dassault is becoming sick day by day... they are putting themselves in a bigger risk.. by being so adamant.. which is one of the big reason i hate Rafale..
i doubt two vendors .. a night mare in all aspects... it will be a single vendor only
two vendors will make some problem such as maintenance cost infrastructure but if the numbers are true a single vendor will take hell lot of time to supply you with 260 jets
^^ That is the headache of the vendor and HAL.. and he will take care of that ...we are doing the same with MKI...
because Pak start making new Plutonium reactor ...![]()
Mirage upgrade deal can be cancelled because the operator i.e. IAF is strictly against this. They are tempted by the new fighters. If India do decide to increase the number to 260, then MOD should make sure two things :
1) If the order is not increase at the time of signing, then they should keep the option of 134 extra fighters. Otherwise placing an order after 5 yeas for the same fighter might get too expensive for us.
2) If the number is increased, then the MOD must also consider to increase the direct delivery of fighters from the vendor which is 1 squadron (18 fighters) right now so that we could receive all the fighters on time.
