MIGRANTS would be banned from living in Sydney, Melbourne and south-east Queensland for up to five years under a federal government plan to ease congestion in the nation’s most populous cities.

Population Minister Alan Tudge has for months been investigating ways to take pressure off over-stretched roads and rail infrastructure by forcing new arrivals into smaller regions and towns.

Mr Tudge will address the Menzies Research Centre in Melbourne on Tuesday to provide an update on his plans.

The congestion is because of the lack of investment in infrastructure. Since I came here in 2001, the public transport and road infrastructure improved only a little but population boomed. It's totally because of the policies of the vision less government. Trump coming to power and saying all sorts of shitty things about migrants and Australia being a blind follower of the Americans doesn't help either.
