Again, good thing the pilot lived. BUT OMG, something is really wrong with your jets!

Not wrong but time has expired for 40-50 year old birds. We have to replace all MIG 21 with Rafale/Typhoon + Tejas.

Unfortunately, We are still using due to delay in upcoming jets. Next year 50% of them will be decommissioned.

Flying a marine recon aircraft over land, especially so close to the enemy's border that too right after Kargil is what we call the height of stupidity.

that doesn't matter what was a maritime patrol aircraft doing in our airspace? prior to that India and Pakistan signed an agreement that stipulated no military aircraft was to come near the IB, don't expect to enter our airspace and leave safely the MiG-21 pilots at the time asked for the plane to land on an IAF base and the jet made a scramble for the IB what did you expect to happen?

This is a good incident, I hope all the migs fall down with pilots being safe...I dont mind it, that was we will get rid of of these junks...coz Iam sick of these migs now.

what if they crash into civilian populated areas most of the time being they actually do? its better to phase out the MiG-21's right now keeping the Bisons in use only as stage 4 trainers and air defense fighters

A.K.Antony is a honest person but it seems he is incapable of dealing with defense matters. Even at the time of appointment many said that the only plus point that Antony had was that he is not corrupt as MoD is a honeypot.

there is no point of having these MiG-21's in service they are pretty much ancient compared to modern standards and the poor maintenance and ancient technology are the 2 prime reasons for many air crashes these are fighters that our grand daddy's flew in we should have retired them in the 90's
