Mexican man hunts markhor in Chitral with Rs10m permit

I personally don't like it. I'm not sure about the details, as someone stated the money used is for conservation projects and so forth.

On the whole the animal is endangered and shouldn't hunted, especially such a fine male like this, who would have gone on to sire many of his bloodline.

hunting is criminal? then i suppose mankind for centuries is a criminal species

hunting is fine, as long as they arent endangered/protected species.....the outrage should be on those who allow hunting of bustards

READ what I said. Hunting for food is different and hunting for amusement is different.

For the kind information of all members dont get angry. Due to introduction of this trophy hunting we had saved our precious animal. after the introduction these animal population grow from few hundreds to thousands. and 80% of the trophy fee goes to local population for their development and in return they save it from illegul hunting, which is great threat to our national animal and beleive me our ppl r butchers not hunters. After pakistan this programm is succefully introduce in different part of world which help save the extinct animal. hunter only hunt old animals who r no loger valuable.

Sensible post.
Indeed, IF--and it does appear that the Markhor population is stable/growing--the hunting is managed well then, as sad as the pictured looked, one has to accept that as lesser evil.
Heck, where I live out 'in the country', I see deer almost on daily basis. I would never hunt them myself even though in my large and secluded property that would be easy. But I also know that the numbers need to be managed: Just a few days ago I saw a deer in a roadside ditch barely 200 yards from my gated entrance with vultures eating the poor beast. It was a sad sight but too many deer cause traffic accidents.
Same principle applies to the Markhor: If the money from the hunting is used to prevent poaching and better manage the population of Markhor then so be it--however sad it sounds. And it is sad. A bitter pill.
