Metro Bus Project is giving a loss of yearly 1.65 Arab rupee . Only 3% of Lahore People use Metro bus service which covers only 27 Km . Metro Bus service is also fail to achieve the target to lessen the traffic on roads . Now PMLN is just using Metro for the sake of publicity

Transports 0.2 million ppl everyday
Transports 73 million ppl annual

Subsidy per Trip: 22.74 rupees

A news report in Jan 2014 said that the ticket cost for one-way trip is 20 rupees while the rest (40 rupees) is paid in subsidy by the government.

Why not increase the price and shut down the air conditioners ? 20 Rs. going of the govt pocket for every trip is too much. There should be targeted subsidy. Maybe provide discount cards for the students and the elderly just how it is in the UK.

Its difference between mass transit project and showoff project which only benefit 3% of public in Lahore. PMLN wasted money on projects like laptops and jangla buss service. A a country like Pakistan who have big economy issue paying for those showoff project when millions of children are in schools. A huge number die after death. Yes mass transit is needed but must be planned properly and do some research as all other countries do.

And worst part is we could not run a simple buss service our self ? We had to get help from Turkey ?
