Meteor BVR Missile Discussion

Currently the Rafale has a 1-way link with the Meteor. Would the IAF have requested a 2-way link as part of its custom requirements? I think so..

When India is getting Rafale jets???. I'm sure they are keen to level the score. They're gonna try it as soon as they get Rafale

I am sure PAF will devise tactics to counter it. New gadgets appear all the time as well as new techniques to out smart them.I am not worried.

This is more like a marketing article ... with which version of AMRAM were they comparing ... i think Ds r as competent as meteor ...

By the way we already got delivery of 100 pl15 for thunders
Nope , 120D does not have a ramjet engine, rather solid fuel continuous burn which is a very big con compared to the meteor ,

100 % right....they will create a situation and quickly not hesitate to re-start the match even inside our air space ...quick and brief incursion ... and finding opportunity to hit

this was the main doctrine behind Pulwama incident. They are following a sub threshold level conflict policy ...which ultimately targeting our sluggish economy.

that would require major work india wont pay for it. your looking at an additional 50% cost added to add this feature. you need to change most of the internals of the rafale to do this.
Same with Eurofighter.
Gripen E supports a bidirectional link to Meteor.
the typhoon and gripen never had this problem. the architecture was already there when we/you too had the amraams. the main weapon for the rafale was the mica which does not support a two way link.

the japanese have an aesa seaker on one of their missiles aam-4b)

and that tech is being brought on to the meteor. that would be the true monster.

A very interesting discussion of the Meteor missile and its comparison against some of its Peers.

They will pose a problem for the PAF when they enter IAF service, for sure.

Japanese version is even better. With AESA seeker. These missiles are set to change A2A warfare.
iDerby-ER with dual pulse motor although not as good as METEOR, is also terrific BVRAAM. It has range (110 KM in Head on mode) and weight.
