RIP - as my previous analysis about the Naxal threat has been proven correct, they have become deadly proficient in IED and the classical ambush tactics, they also have a small but growing cadre of former indian security force personnel.

That's exactly what Chiang Kai-Shek said about Mao Zedong and his CCP :P

Maoists in India are fighting for over 40 years now and still they could not venture beyond their jungle hideouts..How many years did Mao took?

Striking in a big way ahead of Republic Day, Naxalites today set off a landmine to blow up a police vehicle and opened fire on wounded policemen, killing at least 13 and leaving two seriously injured. They also set fire to other police vehicles and looted the weapons of the dead policemen.

The incident took place on the road to Bargar, 60 km from Garhwa in Jharkhand, in a CPI (Maoist) forest stronghold which stretches into Sarguja in Chhattisgarh.

Reports reaching Ranchi said the Naxalites abducted Garhwa Zila Parishad chairperson Sushma Mehta and her bodyguard who were also on their way to Bargar.

Garhwa Deputy Commissioner R P Sinha told The Sunday Express: “They are missing.” He said police had located Mehta’s abandoned vehicle.

Police suspect that the Naxalites either forced or conspired with the chief of a panchayat to lure the policemen into an ambush.

“A bandh and a roadblock had been called in the area to highlight problems related to bijli, sadak, paani, shiksha and swasthya. The panchayat chief appealed to Bhandaria BDO Basudev Prasad to come and address their grievances,” police sources said.

Prasad and Bhandaria police station Officer-in-Charge Raj Bali Choudhary set out with men of the state police and Jharkhand Armed Police in three vehicles, escorted by an anti-landmine vehicle.

At least 50 Naxalites were lying in wait on the road to Bargar, 8 km from Bhandaria. Prasad was said to have survived the blast — his phone was later switched off — but Choudhary was killed in the attack that took place around 12.30 pm. Police said 12 other policemen died and two were seriously injured.

40 years on still your mighty government can't put out the fire?

im sorry but urs actually lost lol...ur there legacy born into Maoism.

anyways on topic its just a waiting game...there slowly getting pushed deeper in the jungles as police forces slowly creep up and construct guard posts.

as we creep in we limit our accidental slaughtering of unruly tribal civilians ..which can in the future lead to recruitment opportunists for the Naxlas. so rushing in with our full force isn't much of and alternative ;
taking into account our Moral principles and our longterm strategy.

Sorry we are not like Chinese to go in with guns blazing. There is a feeling in GoI that the Maoist are our 'confused' brothers who should be encouraged to abandin armed struggle and join the main stream. So GoI is still using police forces assisted by CRPF and not regular army to deal with Maoists to keep collateral damage to the minimum.
Frankly I don't prescribe to the above and believe that Maoists should be crushed by any means possible even if that means aerial bombardment. If GoI uses regular army, Maoists will be history in a month.

These people are fighting for their land, and until GOI carries out a dialogue with the Naxals, the attacks will only get worse.

THe thing is the image our govt is trying to project ..helps limit the strength of the MAO recruitment cause/propaganda.

u need to controlll bodies as well as minds when fighting an ingenious populace with local breeding.

it may sound harsh but this is how its is being played and should be imo

Sometimes if there is big infection on the leg, the doctor as a last resort may amputate the leg so that the infection may not spread to other parts of the body.

So india is doing genocide on its tribals and taking their land while trying to brainwash them to think indians are doing this for their benefit. Pretending to be peaceful while backstabbing. india is evil as always.

india already sent in Kashmir Rifles. It is a full-blown war with regular army. Aerial bombardment will start soon.

Exactly! There should be multiple "indias" not just one big india. One for hindu fundamentalists. One for secularists (Muslims, Christians, etc.). One for Maoists.

The Red Corridor

india_red_corridor_800-11.jpg

The area of central and northeast India from Bihar which borders Nepal to Andhra Pradesh constitutes the Red Corridor of India some forty percent of rural India.

This area is also the forested and jungle area of India and it also happens to be the area where the poorest and most hunger stricken area of India which according to Binyak Sen and Arundhati Roy should be declared famine zones by the Indian Government.

However the Indian Government has chosen food has a weapon of war to fight the Maoist and Adivasi rebellion.

This area of the Red Corridor also happens to have rich mineral resources like coal and iron ore, bauxite, gold and diamonds. The Indian Government and State Governments has signed hundreds of Memorandums of Understanding ( MOU’S) with Multi National Corporations and Indian compradors selling both land and resources under the feet of the people who live there.

The Maoists have also operated in this area for 30 years originally as separate groups like Peoples War and Party Unity and Maoist Communist Centre. They have long campaigned for the defence of the Adivasis and the unified party in 2004 launched a campaign against the Multi National Companies and the Indian Compradors.

Hence this is the area of the greatest sympathy for the Maoists who are defending the Adivasis people against the Genocidal onslaught of the Indian Government with Operation Green Hunt. This is an Indian Government that would happily starve its Adivasis population to death so it can steal the minerals and resources for the MNC’s and the compradors.
