Mamata likely to accompany PM in Bangladesh trip in Sept-2011

@ Warm welcome to Bangladesh. But after entering to Bangladesh donnot think that it is about to become part of West Bengal !!!!
@ Donnot dream of "Apar Bangla and Opar Bangla".

and Pakistanis say that India has bad attitude towards its neighbour!!!!!!!!!!!

why would India wan't to take over a LEAST DEVELOPED COUNTRY we have enough misery of ours!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

To all Bd members we Indians don't have any intentions of taking over ur country coz there is no advantage for us but we would like to seek partnership with Bd in the area of counter terrorism and trade in this way both nation will benefit and lets be honest India will exploit Bd coz India being a bigger and stronger country now its upto Bd to safeguard their interest don't feel agitated coz thats the reality and tried being very frank!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well I read about it in Telegraph as stated by Bangladeshis who come here for various reasons! Wait lemme share the article.

Lets get real here, the article you shared is from Calcutta right? Obviously the editors would portray their locality with butters and cheese. If anyone travels to India for tourism they would have to go through WB because of geography, such happened when I went to Punjab
mainly to visit their parliament in Chandigarh. Similarly many Indians architects come and visit our parliament.

Many from here goes to Simla,Nepal through road and on the way they would have to stop at Calcutta that doesn't mean they went to visit that place.
Its just for transit reasons.

Lastly the article quotes only 3 (35)mm cameras in BD,
WHAT? Even that good for nothing Ferdous became
a hit in WB I've heard.

Well, I dont know if you ever travelled overseas specailly in 3rd world country. I did, and its like everybody out there to rob you. Even if you come to Dhaka, you will experience the same crapp, from taxi driver to shop keepers, everybody will try the same thing.

It does not happen elsewhere?

With the new entry points contemplated, you will not have to go to Kolkata.

It is getting overcrowded with what is known as the 'floating population'.

In first world country its not that severe..

It is there everywhere and one has to be careful not to be gypped.

This problem is more acute when the locals realise that the person is a first timer to their country/ town.

Who are the taxi drivers in New York? ;)

Theres a reason people say citizens of WB are
desperate for attention, in the long run they ends up
making mockery out of themselves.

The empire is gone
so has the queen of England!
If there wasn't that east India company
that place where you stay would have been a village nothing less
nothing more. Try dhaka, its 400 years old your ancient capital,
still going strong. Maybe even Chittagong, much older.

Dhakas history should include Sonargaon and as old as 900 years... Dhakeswari temple was built by Sena dynasty, dont forget that either.

Telegraph is one of the most level headed news paper in India on par with The Hindu and they don't really portray a rosy picture of the state but sometimes overtly criticising. I don not find any exaggeration in the article. I don't know about the camera thingy although.

Ferdous, who?

The question is how the two can make some difference in bringing Indo-Bangla relation to a stable and level palying field. Forget those Robbers and Taxi Drivers.. I think if there is a serious breakthrough in relations, the robbers will stop robbing and Taxi Drivers wont go to NY. Lets froget the 3rd World Tag.. Need to come out of it.. BD and India can do wonders...
