LUMS outperforms business schools in int’l competition

KARACHI: Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS) participated in the John Molson International MBA case competition held from January 3–10 at the Fairmont Queen Elizabeth Hotel in Montreal, Canada.
The competition was open to top business schools worldwide, and was recognised as the world’s oldest and largest competition of its kind
LUMS clinched second position in its division in the round and went on a tie breaker for the semi-finals where it lost by a meager 9 points.
The event was attended by the selected top 36 universities from around the world who had to present their cases to around 230 judges, all from senior executive positions from the corporate world of Canada.
Syed Nabeel Ahmed, Babar Hassan, Sayyed Sharjeel Musa and Muhammad Shahid Yazdani from the MBA class of 2011 accompanied by Dr Irfan Butt as their coach impressed and awed the competition and its judges with their immense potential, professionalism and intellect.
Another accomplishment was to outperform the top business schools of Asia National University of Singapore and Nanyang Business School, Singapore on the ranking table.

I am impressed that Pakistan actually outperformed Singapore's university which is 3rd in Rankings in Asia. Congrats LUMS!
