Latest aircraft for IAF in Gujarat

Five important airbases of Indian Air Force (IAF) in Gujarat will be equipped with fifth generation aircrafts as well as other latest technology and gadgets by 2014, said Air Chief Marshal PV Naik in Gandhinagar on Thursday.

Naik also said that the IAF was ready to tackle any adverse situation. “IAF has many developments pending and the government will be purchasing the latest gadgets, technology as well as aircrafts to strengthen the force,” he said. Ahmedabad, Nalia, Bhuj, Jamnagar and Vadodara are the five airbases in state.

Naik, who is on a three-day visit to Gujarat, also said that IAF was capable of dealing with security threats arising out of the recent developments in Pakistan.

Naik also said the entire region of South Asia seems to be caught in a maze of security challenges following the killing of Osama Bin Laden and the subsequent terror attack on Mehran Naval airbase in Pakistan. These incidents were likely to have major implications on India.

“Mehran attack is not something that will change our plans. Our plans have already been in place since the last five years,” he said, when asked about IAF’s preparedness to deal with similar situations.

“IAF is emerging as a strategic aerospace force, and is fully capable of facing any challenge that it is posed with. Our preparedness levels are at the desired level to thwart any nefarious threats,” he said.

Naik said that security of IAF airbases was very vital, because its assets were based at those bases. In view of this, IAF had embarked on a major modernisation plan, he said.

“Over the last five years, the IAF has gone about increasing the physical security of the bases, things like boundary walls, controlling the entry-exit points, monitoring,” he said.

Bit too optimistic?

i think he was misquoted . i belive he meant it will be able to host the 5 gen fighters and would be ready from 2014.

might be induction of pak fa stsrts from 2014.
PakFa will start entering in Russian air force by 2015-2016. I think by 2020 we will have one squadron....
I think there was some misquote, may be he meant about MMRCA but it might also not be possible, by that time only 1 squadron will be inducted.

It can't be FGFA so early. The Russians are themselves taking its PAKFA variant by 2016. Guess the Rafales are going to be stationed in Gujarat. Ah well, the most advanced state in the country's got to have the most advanced weapons especially when it borders a dangerous nuisance and was this close to 26/11.

So how many true 5th generation Aircrafts are in the world?

I mean better than LCA the best 4.5 generation aircraft in the world.:lol:

After LCA the only way is up, i.e. the 5th Generation aircrafts.
So why India is buying Middle Range fighters? Are they 5th Generation aircrafts? If not. why does not India mass produce LCA?

After all they are the best 4.5 generation in the world. Should fulfill Indian requirements.:P

It is another thing, when in service they can not pull more than 6g.:hang2:

^^ Everyone Welcome First Troll ....

Welcome MR. troll

what makes me laugh is the helplessness of the Indians against me. Even though until now, I am chiding with them. After all what is the point of giving lectures to primary kids on a thesis?

Now the moot point here is the news item said, by 2014 5th Generation aircraft would be in Gujrat.

So, the million dollar question. How?

There is only one 5th generation aircraft in service in the world, F22.
To my knowledge (correct me if I am wrong) Indian have not and not planning to buy any F22.

Now F22 out of the question, what other 5th Generation fighter would be available by 2014?

Clearly the Air Marshal Naik is another stupid boosting Indian, blowing hot air as usual.

My sincere advice to the Indians here, instead of calling me troll etc, answer my questions. Prove that your Air Marshal is truthful and he can equip Air Bases in Gujrat with 5th Generation Aircraft by 2014.

If you can not prove it, then accept he is a liar, end of the story.
