A company has rolled out a women-only bus service in Lahore, Pakistan.

A Pakistan Muslim League -N member, Hamza Shabaz inaugurated the project, saying that 550 more buses would be launched if the project was successful in the city.

Three pink buses with female collectors but male drivers plied on three routes at standard ticket prices on January 5.

First Bus Service chief Muhammad Dastgir said the new venture aims at offering harassment-free travel to women, The Express Tribune reports.

He said the three buses would run from 6:30am to 7:30pm daily with ticket prices ranging between 15 and 35 rupees but fixed ten-rupee fare for students.

A Pakistani college student, Amna, lauded the project pointing out that women brave unwanted gazes from men everyday.

Kashf Foundation's gender empowerment and social advocacy assistant manager Nasir Mumtaz welcomed the project but called on the government to increase the number of buses and rope in private players.

The First Bus Service presently has over a hundred buses, including 38 CNG ones.

There is already a thread on this Try to search PDF before starting a thread.

ps: Try not to take the news about Pakistan from Crazy Indian websites. Just an advice.

I live in Bangalore, in all AC and Non/AC buses on Road with two doors , front half is for women and last half is for Men and things are really managed properly during peak office hours. The conductors screws the Guys if he Stands in ladies full front part of the bus.

Any further news of Lahore Metro.

As far i heard there is a transport lobby, which is stopping development on Lahore Rapid Mass Transit System.

A plan for underpass(with flyover) on Kalma Chowk was also presented to CM Punjab, but that was turned back since it was coming on the way of Lahore Metro.

it was better to launch family bus service not female
reason
if woman is with her husband, brother or son than where his companion travel
already tested in Rawalpindi but failed
