Khaleda’s family planning special appeal for her release: Selima BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia’s sister Selima Islam on Friday said they are planning to make a special appeal seeking her release from jail as they are worried about her life.

Selima, however, did not make it clear whether they will make the appeal to the government or the apex court.

Talking to reporters after meeting her sister at Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU), Selima said, “We’re thinking of making a special appeal, but we still didn’t take the final decision.

She further said, “The way her (Khaleda’s) physical condition has deteriorated, we fear we wouldn’t be able to take her home alive if her stay here prolongs. Any accident can take place anytime.”

Selima said her sister immediately needs advanced treatment as her condition has worsened further. “Steps must be taken for her advanced treatment as her condition is very serious. Her sugar level was 15 during fasting today (Friday). How long she’ll remain in such a condition?”

She said though the BNP chief has been receiving treatment at the BSMMU for nearly a year, her condition is not improving. “That’s why we want her to be freed for her advanced treatment at any other sophisticated hospital.”

About Khaleda’s present health condition, Selima said she is vomiting and suffering from fever and serious pains. “Her left hand have got bent and she is suffering from acute pains. “Her proper treatment is not possible at this hospital (BSMMU).”

Khaleda’s sister said the treatment given by the BSMMU doctors is not helping improve her condition. “Rather, her condition is deteriorating gradually. Even, she can’t speak properly.”

She said Khaleda urged people to pray for her early recovery.

Five of her family members, including Selima, her younger brother Shamim Eskandar, his wife Kaniz Fatema and son Ovik Eskandar and her late brother Sayeed Eskandar’s wife Nasrin Eskandar, went to meet Khaleda around 3pm and had over an hour-long meeting, said BNP chairperson’s media wing member Shamsuddin Didar.

Khaleda has been in jail since she was convicted in the Zia Orphanage Trust corruption case on February 8, 2018. She was found guilty in another corruption case later the same year, though her party claims both cases are politically motivated.

The BNP chief has been receiving treatment at the BSMMU since April 1 last year.

So finally mighty Khaleda Zia, 2 full term prime minister ( actually 3 times if we count 15 February 1996 election) , uncompromising leader, so called mother of democracy decided to compromise for her parole/special appeal to autocratic sheikh Hasina? What a pity. Pride is the cause of down fall.

When it will happen ( she will be released from jail as the result of mercy of govt) , people will dare to start speaking for democracy again, because the nightmare ( of democracy) is about to end! Because after this matter, everything is going to change ( literally) in Bangladeshi politics. People will no longer be afraid of returning evil power because seeking any special convenience from Hasina will make Khaleda Zia politically disabled among her vote bank!

@Homo Sapiens you need to see this special "after Eid movement" of the shameless BNP! Once Ershad's downfall was like this, although Ershad was a far better administrator who only thought for the people of Bangladesh, but just his greed of power cause his downfall. He was almost a saint like figure comparing to Khaleda Zia and Tareq chora!

My condolence to the deads of arson terrorism ( causes by Khaleda's goons by her direct order) ( 2014-2015 cause), may their soul rest in peace in heaven, who were murdered by the direct order due to the restoration of so called restoration democratic right . Now this party not only joined Parliament, but it's leader is about to seek mercy! What was the fault if common folks who died because of arson attack? Is imposing blockade over the whole country and destroy peoples' wealth part of democracy? Is killing people with petrol bomb ( to make blockade and strike successful) part and parcel to restore democracy? I don't know! What other people think of it?

But I am taking breath in fresh air now, as the evil is going to be vanquished forever. No chance of even hypothetical return!

Ps: Be sure everyone it's going to happen, because without consent of Khaleda Zia noboy even dare to think of speaking like that with media! So this thing is actually going to happen very soon!

I wonder, how responsible is Khaleda for the grenade attack that killed 25 people and Hasina was saved only by a split second. Her associates took her in their arms and forced her to enter the waiting car. A grenade fell at the same spot within a split second after the car sped away.

I have reason to believe this big incident is related to her present situation. Tree leaves do not move without wind.

Bhai,It could be like that. They intended to save Hasina who was given order by Khaleda Zia to murder Hasina with grenade? We already saw that some big fish apart from Khaleda's own people are convicted for the grenade attack?

So maybe they wanted to to save Hasina, since they couldn't violate the direct order from govt, but they indeed can save someone indirectly like this way! What say you?

If you are thinking same way as I did, so probably I also have the same reason to believe.

And by way, Tareq Zia supposed to be the master mind of the grenade attack, but we already saw former intelligence chief and few officers was convicted too and get punishment , so how can we not blame Khaleda Zia ( and only blame her son for everything) as she was defense minister too? ;), .

And intelligences are directly report everything to prime minister only! So if they really have such involvment as a pressure from Khaleda govt, then they can't violate it. But someone very important can be saved right? As its clear that no firishta from heaven saved Hasina in that horrific situation!

So who were involved because of BNP govt pressure, they should be spared IMHO ( as they were bound to follow govt order in order to save themselves from the wrath of former PM Khaleda Zia ) , and who are the real hypocrite ( political goon like Babar and part of govt party) should be hanged till death because of murdering 25 people with grenade!

BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia’s sister Selima Islam has made a humanitarian call to the government for her release, so she may avail superior and further treatment.

“Her (Khaleda’s) physical condition is now very bad. She’s suffering from respiratory problems, and she’s almost unable to speak,” she said.

The BNP chief's sister was talking to reporters after meeting her sister at Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU) on Tuesday, reports UNB.

Selima further added: “I call upon the government to consider her ailment and her current physical condition, respiratory problems, and age. She should either be released or given bail on humanitarian grounds. We make this call to the government and demand her unconditional release.”

About Khaleda’s present condition, she said the BNP chief cannot stand for even five minutes without the help of others. “The distance from her bedroom to the washroom is very short, but it takes her around 20 minutes to get there. Her left hand is bent completely while the right one is also now getting bent.”

Selima also said her sister is unable to eat due to vomiting problems as she is suffering from fever and serious pains in her body, and her diabetic problem also remains beyond control.

Under the circumstances, she said the BNP chief urgently needs advanced treatment.

Khaleda’s sister also feared that anything bad can happen if the BNP chief is not immediately provided with advanced treatment now, as her condition has sharply deteriorated.

“We want her (Khaleda) to be released so that we can at least ensure advanced treatment for her. This is our only request (to the government),” an emotional Selima told journalists.

Asked whether they filed any formal application with the government in this regard, she replied in the negative.

“We’re making an appeal to the nation and the country’s people to pray for her early recovery, and make efforts for her release,” she added.

As her attention was drawn to the report on an application submitted by the BNP chief’s family to the BSMMU VC, Selima said they gave it demanding Khaleda’s release since she has been convicted in ‘false cases.’

Five of her family members, including Selima, her younger brother Shamim Eskandar’s wife Kaniz Fatema, and her son Ovik Eskandar, Tarique Rahman's sister-in-law Shahina Zaman Bindu, and Arafat Rahman Koko’s mother-in-law Mukrema Reza, went to meet Khaleda around 3:30pm and had an hour long meeting, said BNP chairperson’s media wing member, Shamsuddin Didar.

Awami League general secretary Obaidul Quader on Friday said BNP secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir phoned him and sought Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina's intervention for the release of Khaleda Zia on Parole.

“I had a discussion with Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir on the release of Begum Khaleda Zia on parole over telephone. He (Fakhrul) requested me to discuss the issue (Khaleda Zia’s release on parole) with Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina,” he said.

Quader, also the road transport and bridges minister, came up with the remarks at a press conference at AL President Sheikh Hasina's political office in the capital’s Dhanmondi area this morning.

This is bad news for Bangladeshs economic prosperity having khaleda out will only weaken hasina, and cause them two to bicker. Taking hasina off course.

Nah you are wrong. Having Khaleda out with parole will make her politically dead, and BNP will be gone forever. She will lose all credibilities as uncompromising leader. Common folks will look at mercy on her even grassroot BNP can raise questions. After all lots if their grassroot folks suffered much due to case and imprisonment.

So if she compromise with AL the so called illegals govt, then she ( Khaleda Zia) will seriously lose her image as mother goddess among BNP grass root folks.

But this parole shouldn't be as easy as you think. Khaleda Zia need to accept her crime in order to get a parole and the parole will be for limited time. The speculation is she will have to resign from BNP leadership as well as politics too.

Now let's wait and watch. As long as Khaleda Zia will be politically dead, BNP is no longer a threat. People like it or not although Ziaur Rahman was the founder of BNP, but it's Khaleda Zia under who's leadership BNP became an oak tree. So BNP ( that was in power) is actually the mighty child of Khaleda Zia, not Ziaur Rahman.

In 1991 election BNP came to power unexpected. AL was supposed to win. But I believe AL needed to learn more lesson so given 88 seats. Of course this theory fall under deep state theory that has no evidence. Just my analysis say so. You also can dig in to deep you will find something.

Khaleda Zia’s family applies for her temporary release

Star Online Report
BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia's family members have applied to the home ministry for her temporary release, party Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir told reporters today.

He said the application was filed a few days ago, but did not specify whether it had also sought parole or any other details.

None of the BNP chief's family members could be reached for comments at the time of filing of this report.

Asked whether the party would seek any parole, the BNP leader said, "We repeatedly said seeking parole is completely Khaleda Zia and her family's personal matter."

Fakhrul came up with the disclosure when he, along with Gazipur district leaders, went to BNP founder Ziaur Rahman's grave to place wreaths.

Referring to GK Shamim's bail, he alleged that a criminal got bail. "It proves that there is no rule of law in the country.

"It also proves that Khaleda Zia is kept behind bars just out of political vengeance. A criminal got bail but a former prime minister did not," he said.

Khaleda, who is now in the prison ward of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University, has been in jail since she was convicted in the Zia Orphanage Trust corruption case on February 8, 2018. She was found guilty in another graft case later the same year.

Hasina is no fool. She will never allow Khaleda to lead a 'government in exile' from London. Khaleda will never be released unless Tareq Rahmed returns to BD to be placed in a long term prison hell. Forget about Khaleda joining Tareq in London as per MI6 prescription.

I dislike Tareq because he pretend to be pro Pakistani in order to turnish the Pakistani image in Bangladesh. On a contrary, his lobby spends big time in Delhi like his late father did. Pak government has nothing to do this idiot.

But if Khaleda Zia ask for mercy perdon then? Can still she effectively lead a 'A govt in exile'?

So like me you also believe that it's BNP who is the real sidekick of India?

I know these people from personal knowledge. Just check the hotels in Delhi and you will find BNP guys. Tabith Awal and Amir Khasru specially. Their mentor is of course Moudud Ahmad. They have damaged our relationship with BD. His father Ziaur Rehman is the only BD head of state to visit North Korea.

Wow, so hero ( Mujib) was introduced as villain and villain ( Zia) was introduced as hero? I heard that Ziaur Rahman was isi agent, but was he also a double agent of raw? I wouldn't be surprised if that's the case!

Sadly people are too fool to realise, specially my compatriots always live in fool's paradise due to their over sensitivity to Islam. BNP used the sentiment through jamat. And I now suppose that India also used the sentiment too to brainwash such people.

So nobody really bother to find the reality. No one pays attention that Islamic foundation of Bangladesh was established by bangabandhu sheikh Mujib, and now also if some improvement of madrasa or other religious institutions happened mostly by AL govt from the beginning.

Ironically, the guy who exposed Ziaur Rehman to be pro Indian, is none other than Lt. Col. Shariful Haq Dalim ( Aka Major Dalim) . He described details about Zia's pro Indian profiles in his books with first hand witness accounts. Read those books.

What's the name of the book? He is actually forbidden in Bangladesh I think, so I will try finding such book in other ways.

Ps: However I am sure @Al-zakir will file a criminal case against you, because you called Ziaur Rahman pro Indian ;).
