PTI's coup de grace is the fact that it has dangerously and quite dim-wittedly aligned itself with the PAT.

Although PTI may have been in for the peaceful protest, the PAT activists are not. Being armed to the teeth with clubs, marbles, wire-cutters, slingshots and a crane they and their leader have much more sinister designs. They've come looking for blood to nurture their inqilaab in order to give it some sort of political legitimacy which they presently lack under the leadership of a Canadian.

Javed Hashmi and Shah Mehmood Qureshi both warned IK against relocating the dharna to the PM House for the sole reason that it would put them center stage with the bloodthirsty PAT workers and that would risk diluting the divergent agenda of both the parties. IK foolishly refused to heed their advice which is why we're here now at one of the darkest hours of our fleeting existence.

If the government wanted to crackdown on the protesters, it would have cracked down on them the first day.

Also the protesters could not have attacked the first day because they were in Aabpara. Let me also remind you that it was the government that allowed them safe passage to the red zone and let them camp peacefully on constitution avenue. The PAT workers have brought it upon themselves, and PTI with it.
