Syrian activists have identified one of the tortured victims of the Syrian mukhabarat as Shadi Al-Hasan, a Jordanian taxi driver that drove between Amman and Damascus. He was kidnapped two years ago west of Damascus in his white Toyota camry, according to media sources. He had on his forehead a sticker with '9151' on it which is the Syrian Mukhabarat's way of numbering their victims. It is estimated that there have been over 13,000 Syrians tortured to death by the Syrian regime since March of 2011.


-just proves that Assad's regime is indeed even worse than Daesh, the proof is their body count since 2011. 13,000 is probably a conservative estimate.

More than 75 torture victims have been identified so far. none of them were armed militants.

For instance, Ahmed Shehadeh al-Shanwan, a former prisoner from Adra prison, was a Syrian Electronic Engineer who was arrested by the Air Forces intelligence in late 2011 while he was transporting Homsi Syrian refugees from Dara’a to Jordan.
Nearly 13,000 Syrians, including 108 children, have been tortured to death in government prisons since the country's uprising began in March 2011, and 20,000 detainees have disappeared in government prisons and their fate remains unknown.

Fucking shithole region. As long as Israel exists, this region will never see democracy or peace. Without Israel, US will have no reason to destabilize/bomb countries in region nor prop up dictatorial regimes.
