these fuel tanks remind me of the olden times the Mig 19s and Mirages fuel tanks look up old pictures of the 80s.

True. We have seen something similar being used with F-7s

But why? Either they are somehow losing a lot of fuel tanks, or they envisage a sudden influx of a lot of aircraft, or they envisage losing a lot of fuel tanks in the future.
