how much c-802 can jf-17 carry ? as its weapons load is 3600 kg then can we expect at least 4 ?![]()
Being ramjet powered the Brahmos suffers from high altitude detection & interception. Its min altitude above sea level is 10m while C-802 is about 3m; however Brahmos is popular because of its high destructive power; owing to high speed say ~twice of C-802 its penetration & kinetic blow will be twice deadly than C-802. Being a Russian legacy of making things spacious its warhead too is ~twice heavy roughly 200kg as opposed to 110kg for C-802.
So in a way a single shot of Brahmos can take down a cruiser ship which otherwise will require two C-802
Okay speed is one quality that makes the missile almost impossible to intercept. (and that why DF-21 is making Americans ma$terbate their brains out). Now what is so special other than speed which makes this missile difficult to intercept? Agility and changing paths tactics? I guess it wouldn't be helpful against Gatling Guns, let the incoming intercepting missiles alone. I'm not subject specialist so tolerate if question sound stupid but I want to know why are we so sure that this beast will kill the beasts.
Ship-launched Brahmos can fly in sea-skimming mode, completely destroy target
The ship-launched anti-ship version of Brahmos missile can fly at supersonic speed barely 3-4 meters above the surface of the sea making it ideal for stealth attack against enemy ships.
The missile which is being offered to Malaysia to be mounted on its new generation patrol vessels successfully completed its anti-ship test two months ago.

Primarily via gas-dynamic control system ; which is further classified in two ways^ Can a Supersonic missile change its path after it is launched?
( This method is used by Brahmos) See the video & notice the small puffs ejecting just besides nosecone to maneuver the missileControl jets are small orifices in the top/bottom and/or sides of the object to be controlled, through which gas can be ejected. This gas may be tapped from the main engine or generated separately from compressed gas in bottles or by burning fuel. If mounted in the front of the vehicle, a gas jet blowing out the left of the nose will push the nose, and therefore the object, to the right. If mounted behind the center of gravity of the object the opposite effect will occur - a gas jet on the left side will turn the object to the left. Varying the amount of gas exiting the jet will control the amount of force and therefore the rate of turn.

IIRC, Brahmos can't fly its full 280km range if flying sea-skimming all the way. And I'm under the impression that the 180km range quoted for C-802A is the sea-skimming range.
any other link u got
Please also note the side exocet is hitting and the side Brahmos is hitting. Also Exocet is hitting almost the top front of the ship.you have proved my point!!
Compare this with the damage done by Brahmos
