A delegation of Chinese defense ministry press officials visited Japan on Tuesday and Wednesday and exchanged views with their Japanese counterparts on white papers and press releases.
Sources with the Chinese defense ministry told Xinhua on Thursday the visit was part of this year's defense exchange program between both countries.
The Chinese delegation briefed the Japanese side about the Chinese white paper on China's Military Strategy, issued in May and the Japanese officials outlined their white paper as well.
Both sides exchanged views on the formulation and contents of their respective white papers and both believe such exchanges will help enhance understanding and address concerns, according to the Chinese defense ministry.
The Chinese delegation said the Chinese white paper has revealed China's open attitude on major strategy issues, urging Japan to introduce the Chinese armed forces in their white paper in a more truthful and objective manner, and stop playing up the so-called China Threat, said the defense ministry.
