And no, it is always the ownership of the land territory that gives the right to the surrounding water, never the other way around where one can lay claims to land territory via EEZ. Matter fact, a nation can own land territory within another country's territorial water, and no amount of claim to any water can be translated into land possession.

Historical title does not. There is no such example of a country owning water as sovereign territory except 12nm from shore. Yes TaiPing Dao is occupied and control by Taiwan since the end of WW2 after Japan officially renounced its sovereignty and transferred the island to the Republic of China under the provisions of the Taipei Peace Treaty.

There is no such a thing as Eez that can be claimed by rocks in the SC sea. International laws only allow coastal countries to claim Eez. You can’t claim Eez just because you have a rock midst of the sea.

It only states that there is only one China and that it is the PRC. But there's nothing in there addressing the territory of what was Formosa. So from the perspective of the UN, the ruling government on Taiwan is just not participating at the UN.
