"Japan for Japanese " peaceful protests against immigration

Something that China (and Korea, Singapore, Thailand etc) for instance would be well advised to learn from. The slow and gentle aging into oblivion that Japan has been experiencing over the last 40 years is nothing like the old age dependency ratio Tsunami that is roaring towards China.

Increased immigration to Japan, if achievable, will help mitigate its chronically low Total Fertility Rate. Even if Japanese women were to start popping out children like crazy today (which looks pretty unlikely) they would still need help from immigration to avoid societal near collapse.

Singapore is even more open to immigration than the US is lol.

Anyway, I doubt immigration can ameliorate Japan's demographics problem in a meaningful way.

1) Japan is too populous. Even Germany which is much more inclusive is having limited success in immigration with a smaller population. They had to compromise quality to admit a larger quantity of immigrants, and now it is creating more problems for Germany.

2) Language. You have to learn Japanese to live and integrate into the Japanese society. That automatically excludes a large portion of potential high-quality immigrants who would rather move to English-speaking countries if standard of living is similar.

3) East Asia is just too nationalistic and xenophobic to accept immigrants on a large scale. You see what they even quarrel among themselves? Chinese New Year or Lunar New Year, Dragon Boat festival origin, whose traditional clothing copy from who, whose cuisine copy from who, whose traditional culture copy from who, etc and all that nonsense. That's not really a great example of an inclusive society.

If even among similar looking people and similar culture they can feel so proud of their slight distinctness and feel the need to assert a subtle sense of superiority whenever such topic arises, you think they can really accept people of other color as part of their mainstream society? They may ameliorate their demographic challenges with immigration but create more social problems down the road.

The biggest problem with raising children in most advanced societies is Urbanization that comes with Industrialization. Children are seen as an economic asset on the farm but a huge expense in a tiny Beijing apartment.

The reason that the USA doesn't have nearly as low a Total Fertility Rate as many other Industrialized countries is that it industrialized very slowly. It wasn't farm to city but rather farm to town to suburb to (sometimes) city. There is more room for kids in suburbs.

China industrialized in a generation. Straight from the farm to high-rised living space. Its chronic education related expenses and many other disincentives to have kids, such as the now defunct one child policy, that have joined together to make it a cultural norm in China to have no kids, are really just an outgrowth of the super fast Urbanization.

Even if you were to make education in China free tomorrow it will not change the number of kids being born. It will not change the demographic cliff that China is fast racing to.

You're complicating things. Only if the Chinese People's Congress agrees to legalise and commercialise the surrogacy industry, we can change the fertility rate immediately.

btw: China did not industrialise in one generation. China's initial industrialisation was in 1959/1961, during China's Great Leap Forward. China achieved its initial industrialisation in just three years, with a complete industrial chain at the most basic level and nine years of compulsory education for all. At the same time, China paid a huge price in terms of three years of famine and mass deaths.
China's present industrial capacity is the result of seventy years of sustained and continuous endeavour, and was not accomplished in just one generation.

btw2: China's industrialised base and education for all were the most important reasons why global capital chose to invest in China rather than India in the 1990s.

Japanese language is called Nihongo.

I have met many Pakistanis in the West, they told me they would prefer to live in a Muslim country. The only reason they leave is because of job security, economic, or education reasons.

Well one Pakistani I used to work with said he had to leave because it pained him to deal with corruption at the hands of a fellow Muslim.

He said in the US you don't have to pay somebody to make sure your name isn't put at the bottom of a list to get a phone or something.

Now it pains him even more knowing he gets treated better by people who were never taught how to treat their fellow man righteously...but the people who were taught are the ones doing the cheating.

This has certainly strained his faith.

Exactly. Plus, not everyone likes to learn 'ching-chong-shong,' no offense. And good luck making any sense out of Kanji, the Japanese writing, which looks like a bunch of exotic insects crawling about.

Learning English was enough, for me personally, and I can speak for a lot of people.

And besides, I can already speak like 5 languages (Urdu/Hindi, Punjabi, Arabic, English), give or take, and can say the same about most people living in the third-world.

A vast majority of third-world dwellers are bilingual, at the very least. And it only gets harder the more languages you try to cram in your brains!

Actually Kanji comes from Chinese. The Japanese also had developed hiragana and katakana. They use all three scripts together.

yes it true we are drained working paying taxes, their is no relaxation. government is for rich not poor. opening a business is hard and costly. getting a job is hard you get a shityy job where you be bossed around and constantly have to prove yourself. it can be a dog life but in third world we will be destroyed living there. education, healthcare, government welfare handouts keeps us alive.

This is not multiculturalism this is invasion on Europe from third world , this should stop .

this rapid decline of white population due to immigration is what elon was trying to get at and he got trouble for

  • In 2021, 36.3 million children were White (49.4%); 18.9 million were Hispanic (25.7%); 10.1 million were Black (13.8%); 4 million were Asian (5.4%); 596,000 were American Indian/Alaska Native (0.8%); and 158,000 were Native Hawaiian/Other Pacific Islander (0.2%).
hispanics are only slightly above blacks in terms of income and educational attainment

america will converge with rest of the americas or africa at this rate
