I always said.. that there are only two things that can shake the most unshakable faith in god..especially for Muslims..
1. Contact with E.Ts
2. A genetically engineered human that has no genes that match with any living persons.. as such..
a unique creation..
why would it shake faith in God? when your prophet has told you this already?
The entire human race awaits with bated breath for the first contact. But ever wondered, maybe those ETs don't want a 'contact'?1. Contact with E.Ts
Thats well with the realm of immediate future science. Remember the bug grown with engineered DNA? However, many ethical questions will arise, and I am not talking about the religious ones.2. A genetically engineered human that has no genes that match with any living persons.. as such..
a unique creation..

My question is, "How come it is ethical to create artificial machines out of Silicon but not out of Carbon, Hydrogen, Nitrogen, and Oxygen?!"
why would it shake faith in God? when your prophet has told you this already?
Told what? Contact with ETs or Genetic breakthroughs? Sources.
Not specifically mine.. although the ET bit would be a little disturbing..
The Cloning thing isnt creation.. but a unique thing.. unlike one that has been.. or will be..
something that has genetic code that does not match anything ever heard of..
Or perhaps.. maybe it is something bound to happen....
What I meant by the post though.. is these are things that seemingly belie properties unique to god.. which is unique creation.. outside of the laws of the universe.. and life.. etc.(not an ET)..
religion aside..
Bio engineering.. or cloning holds one problem.. especially for those that say they will become immortal..
That person.. while being you.. wont be you.. you will still shut off when you die.. sure your memories.. exp.. "you" will be in that clone.. but not so..
Movies like "the sixth day" and "the Island" come to mind..
Unless there is a way to store "you".. your current "data".. into a temporary place and then transfer it.. not a copy and paste.. but a cut and paste.
I remember there was this stupid media hype in Pakistan a few years ago about KFC using genetically engineered meat pieces living off tubes.. to make its chicken.. but millions would benifit from a standalone ..grown heart.. or liver..
Or perhaps a bug that feeds using photosynthesis... or converts waste matter to oxygen.. still wont be unique.. just a combination of genetic code snippets.
