How does a country that even remotely has no borders with or is near Europe be member of Eurovision? In a sense it validates the proposition by the late Edward Said that Israel is merely the latest European colonial project under the guise of Judaism.

Because it has nothing to do with the Europe borders but with membership in EBU :
European Broadcasting Union. Countries who are members of this broadcasting union are eligible to participate.
