Is this secularism of India ?

Definitely India is not 100% secular. Because some of its laws like the ban on cow slaughter is against secularism. But the fact is India is much more secular then any of its South Asian neighbours (I don't know about secularism in Sri Lanka).
There are hundreds of millions of Muslims and Hindus in India so definitely there will be some cases like this since India is a developing country.
It is a gradual process I would say India is more secular then it was a decade or two decades ago. India has the potential to show the world that many religions can co exist with each other peacefully.

Why do you assume that Indian Muslims are not secular. If the majority of Indian Muslims have accepted a ban on cow slaughter that is what it is..secularism!!! You see its not a one way street always.. ofcourse people from so-called-islamic and non secular societies cannot understand this simple fact :)

@ Raja.Pakistani

Yes this is the secularism of India. The fact that Indians are willing to hear his side of the story and accept that he has been wronged, and are willing to change. Thats secularism.

I live in a secular country called Canada so I know that secularism is separating religion from the state. When you have a law that is supporting one religion then that is not secularism.

The same law has made exceptions when it comes to Islamic Marriages. Why be selective ?

Coming from a Pakistani, It is truly an endorsement of Indian secular ethos

He is my brother in islam..I feel his pain even if he is indian muslim

you can also feel his pain because he is human before he is indian or muslim

I feel sorry for Muslims too..in that effect, Pak has had a hand in Tarnishing the image of Islam and muslims. As a human I feel it too :(

The point is being missed.

The poster is trying to incite and wants ppl to accept this & add to the flames.
