Is the US government fostering Sunni Shia hostilities?

Saddam was secular. His army was secular. Then the US killed Saddam and installed Shia government led by Sadr into power. Sadr oppresses Sunnis and that led to Sunnis fighting back in the form of ISIS. Why would the US foster Sunni Shia war in the Middle East?

i've read reports released by active and former Pentagon/Defense officials of USA in which they regret alienating the Baathists of Iraq, the taleban/Pashtuns of Afghanistan

it was a HUGE mistake to disband Saddam's military ....many officers went underground, and joined hardcore "Resistance" groups, some involved in sectarian warfare

problem in Iraq is also tribalism....many of the hardcore Baathists belonged to Tikrit region (Saddam's hometown area). Tikrit was one of the areas that were taken over/conquered by ISIS - with zero resistance

US toppled Mossadegh and put in the shah. Khomeni was a consequence of this.

It was all great game being played in Iran.

US had Shah
While Commie soviets were supporting Tudeh and Khalaq

Sadly you pick on just one as if Tudeh and Khalaq were angels. They were not.

Nonsense. We were happy with the shah. Why would we pay opposition in exile?

Not sure about "payments".

But Mullah Khomeni stayed in Paris for a while. Who paid his expenses.

People say, shias in France cooked food and brought to Khomeni's appartment.

However if Khomein was not French citizen, and still living there, that means he had support from France and by extension the West.

France is not interested in what's good for "the West", only France.

yes and no.

France has show that both right and left gov coordinate policies with USA and UK when it comes to ops in the Middle East.
At this moment in time they do. But in the past there was fierce competition between Britain and France. France was close to Saddam's Iraq for example even after the 1991 Gulf War. In the fifties and sixties France supported Israel while Britain preferred Jordan. There have even been allegations that France funded and armed Irgun and Stern Gang terrorists in the 1940s.
