Is Modi going to be the last PM of India?

There are two theories to this.
There is a thought that modi wanted a presidential system in India. I don't know how right this theory is.
It can shake the very fragile balance of India. But if you see they are laying the ground for that.
Modi is certainly popular enough to pull that off. What would happen next is the question.
It might even be good for countries like paksitan and India.
But people are very anti that. And they would not agree. You can pull that off. But can you sustain it?
That is question for that future.
And this is all based on hypothesis.
BJP and india may not want a presidential system but I think they do.

MayaB, the crux of the problem is Indians expect way too much from one person - whether it be the movies or business or politics. The political system of India is being played like a fiddle by hierarchical and in some cases in-family clowns; the administrative bureaucracy is predicated on bribery; the people have accepted this nonsense. But they keep believing some messiah will arise like Gandhi or Christ and lead them to modern glory.

Modi government will only be effective if it is challenged by an opposition. Without opposition the BJP cabinet of fools look exactly like the Congress cabinet of fools with one difference : Modi (like Indira a long time ago).

Crux of the problem is corrupt Indians

The root cause is greed. This greed leads people to indulge in corruption to make money and/or gain power.

But there has to be some limit. Paying money to a traffic police or a bureaucrat to move your file is one thing but criminalizing politics to divide and suppress people using riots and mob attacks should be simply unacceptable.

Back in the 1970s we use to have frequent communal riots in Hyderabad. The root cause was the factionalism in Congress. The rivals camps in congress use to indulge in riots to bring down the CM of the opposing faction.

The riots disappeared the day TDP came to power as TDP did not have the faction problem like the congress.

TDP was corrupt too and made lot of money through real estate but they did bring in investment/jobs/deveopment and ensured that there was peace.

BJP was supposed to be the party with a difference when it started but it was dead on arrival with Modi taking its reigns.

There is a chance that Modi may not contest in 2024. (There is an informal 75 years limit in BJP and he will be 73) after Modi in the next election Amit Shah will be PM face. He is the face of all Hindutva decisions - Kashmir, Triple Talaq, CAA-NRC

But will India survive in 2024 when Amit bhai plans to takeover?

Modi has been consistently taking steps both internally and externally to weaken India.

1) Increase Hindu-Muslim divide

2) Weaken economy

3) Create Language conflicts

4) Defund Defence

5) Weak foreign policy

So will India survive Modi's war on India?

Have to agree.... India is declining under Modi....

india army is most politicized these days unlike in past and many of indian army retired officers are praising modi and criticizing congress, I not think modi will go anywhere until his death but he will be replaced by same rss member as indian army and raw is totally involved in politics these days and will play role in influencing elections results.India is no more free democracy
Hahahaha...

Modi will go and new PM will come. And it will be continued..

Rest are just wet dreams..

Indian Army has never interfered in elections

The army men are also citizens who can have political views. Most army men are nationalists. Since BJP also favours nationalism their political views align
