“Stage-1 and stage-2 motors of the carrier functioned properly and the satellite was successfully detached from its carrier, but at the end of its path it did not reach the required speed for being put in the orbit,” Defense Ministry space program spokesman Ahmad Hosseini told state TV.

When it comes to space launches, there is no "failure", only opportunity to learn more. I commend Iran for being active in such a difficult sector. God speed Iran. Such difficult journeys only make the fruits of it much more delicious!!

Glad to see this failure. It ran out of gas at the end. Maybe sanctions slowed it down.

Oh I am sure you're enjoying it. Just enjoy it whilst it lasts. Such teething process are natural part of such complex endeavor. Of course in the end, you're not the one that has the final laugh!

Iranian satellite fails to enter into orbit during fourth consecutive unsuccessful launch

News of the failure broke on Sunday, two weeks after satellite imagery showed increased activity around Iran’s Imam Khomeini Space Center.

The latest mishap is the fourth time a satellite launched from the Khomeini spaceport has failed to reach outer space. The previous failed attempted happened on Aug. 29. Satellite images showed what appeared to be a failed rocket launch from the space center’s launch pad. Iran did not admit to the failure until days later on Sept. 2.

After the August failure, the Trump administration placed sanctions on the Iranian Space Agency for the first time in its history. U.S. officials said that Iran is using its space agency, purportedly meant for space research, as a covert means of placing satellites carrying ballistic missiles into space.

"The United States will not allow Iran to use its space launch program as cover to advance its ballistic missile programs. Iran’s Aug. 29 attempt to launch a space launch vehicle underscores the urgency of the threat," Secretary of State Mike Pompeo said at the time.

"These designations should serve as a warning to the international scientific community that collaborating with Iran’s space program could contribute to Tehran’s ability to develop a nuclear weapon delivery system," he added.

Interestingly these Americans are more obsessed with Iranian "failures" and success than they are with their own. We can normally except to see 10x more news articles when a nation like Iran, China etc not does not succeed compared to they themselves fall short. Not that I am surprised by it, but it does highlight their petty desperations and obsessions.

We won't fail next time. Hold onto this

until then.

Didn’t Iran put a satellite into orbit some 10 years ago with Safir during Ahmadinejads presidency? Why are satellite launchs failing now when we managed to do it a long time ago?

Those satellite were much lighter and placed in lower orbits. Also remember, no nations gets to a 100% success rate with space programs. Even Russians and Americans have unsuccessful launches. It's just the way space programs are. They're inherently very vulnerable to these things. Consistency is very hard to achieve in this sector. So lets give Iran major praise for actually trying to crack this extremely difficult sector. How many others nations have even tried to launch satellites? 8? 9?

in conclusion once again the Simorgh SLV has successfully performed as ballistic missile to deliver payload to earth but failed as Satellite Launch Vehicle

Why waste money on this when ur under sanctions and economic situation is worst? This money could have been used for the people of iran but actually the mullah regime hates its people and would rather prefer to kill them than feed them.
