I think you`re possibly giving pak waay to much benefit of the doubt there,my friend.
I always thought the fact that the us didnt inform the pak government prior to the operation to take out obl spoke volumes about the level of trust they had in pak,but you`re right either way it did look hideously embarrassing for pak and its intelligence services[LOL!]

As a kiwi I always remember this rather notorious incident.

What made it even worse in many peoples eyes was that the israelis[mossad] were trying to steal the identity of a disabled man who suffered from cerebral palsy,even worse still they were let off with nothing more than a slap on the wrist with a wet bus ticket.
What added an even more sinister element to this whole disgusting spectacle is that israel is well known for using passports from "safe" countries like new zealand for its foreign assassination ops.
